      hello everyone newbie question!

im new to the forum wanted to say hi and post an experience. i used to be quite interested in lucid dreaming and astral projection when i waas about 12-13 whoever fell out of it and stopped practicing after a wile. now im 18 and i recently had an experience where i woke up in the middle of the night completely in sleep paralysis which at the time freaked me out but now i realize what it was. this has re ignited the interest and last night i attempted to enter sleep paralysis to do astral or lucid dream. i layed down and waited until i felt the heaviness and knew i had tricked my body into going paralysis however it seems whenever i get to this state my eyes (while closed) seem to go wild with movement that feels very strong and last night seemed to break my paralysis trying to control the movements. im curious if this a normal thing for other people or if i should just let my eyes do whatever they want thanks in advance

      Hi and welcome to Dreamviews!

Yes, you can wake up at night and be in sleep paralysis, when you can't move, no matter what. But it's rather rare occurence. If you feel it, it means your body failed to shut down SP when you woke up. It is a disorder and to majority of population happens 1-2 in a lifetime.

The good news is, you don't need it to lucid dream. In fact, it's impossible to induce it before you start to dream. And even the you don't induce it. Your body is in full control about when it starts and when it stops.

The feeling of heaviness, or any other sensation is a normal sign of falling asleep.

Here are Dreamviews recommended tutorials Induction Methods and Techniques

Try these and it's quite possible that your problem with eyes will not repeat.

Good luck and ask any question you should have.
