      Shalom from the Brandnewbie

      Hi!

I'm an orthodox Jew (really). I don't dress in all black; I'm wearing jeans, a short-sleeve button-down shirt & a baseball cap. I'm also 50, marvelously married , the father of two boys and living in Israel (I moved here 26 years ago from the USA).

Why am I here at DV? I recently (last week & last night) had two dreams (not lucid, but vivid nevertheless) that are really sticking with me. It's not that I don't know what they mean, I'm pretty sure I know what they mean and that is what's freaking me out. My religious faith as an orthodox Jew is the anchor & center of my life and my dreams fit into that context. I'm going to start a dream journal and I would greatly appreciate any & all advice, thoughts, etc. anyone might have. (I will also post on our take on dreams.)

I throw out one caveat. Any Christians who want to respond, please by all means. But please respect my faith for what it is & do NOT "witness" at me. That is the shortest route to getting me to ignore & disregard you. If you have any questions, please by all means ask & I will do my best to answer. Thanks.

      Other than that...

Shalom, I am a Christian but my family and I are members of our local Jewish Community Center which has fantastic community programs to offer. Do not worry, I will definitely not "witness" at you, I am not that kind of Christian - I believe in open mindedness and respect for different faiths and learning from one another. I look forward to interacting with you on DV!

You may say I'm a dreamer.

      Shalom, ZVBM, welcome to Dreamviews!

As I'm sure you have found out by now, you can post your non-lucid dreams in dream interpretation section to get some opinions, if you wish.

And if you by any chance interested in lucid dreaming, you could start here - http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-methods-techniques/. These are dreamviews recommended ways of becoming lucid. Do ask if you have any question and happy dreams

      Shalom and welcome!

I have only been here for two days but I can already tell you this is the right place for your LD journey, have fun and good luck!

As to your faith, good for you that you have one, but why is it such a big deal and why would you expect someone to treat you disrespectfully because of it? Underneath our beliefs we are all humans. Allow me to underline it with some wise Dalai Lama words: "All major religious traditions carry basically the same message, that is love, compassion and forgiveness the important thing is they should be part of our daily lives. We can survive without religion, but not without human kindness."

We all speak pretty much the same language, just different dialects.

And on that note, seeing as it's 23:45 here...
