      I salute the community

First of all, my apologies for the following mistakes you may find along the text, English is not my first language. I'd appreciate any corrections as well, do not encourage my ignorance, please.

      Quick introduction:
I’ve been able to control my nightmares from a very young age, whether it was by flying or by simply waking up. But I didn’t know what I was doing until a friend of mine told me about lucidity when I was 17. I immediately started these reality tests and everything worked out soon. In my second lucid dream I was able to create a landscape and explore it (I obviously lost control after a while, anyhow…) and in my third, I directly asked the chimera that was chasing me (after checking several times I was safe and away enough from it ) what was the reason; it replied to me, calmed down, decreased in size, and we talked about it, finally arranging to meet each other in other dreams (I never saw it before, though).
I’ve been having all kind of lucid dreams since then, and even though I’ve done (and unsuccessfully tried ) many… let’s say, 'useless stuff', I mainly use it to keep as many nightmares as I can under control. The thing is it stopped feeling right almost a year ago, when I started experiencing sleep paralysis too frequently (the last one was specially terrible, visual and auditory hallucinations included), and incredibly long false awakenings. I also read on some site that “not even most experienced lucid dreamers had more than one lucid dream a week”. At the time I used to have two or three a week so, as I’m a natural paranoid, this freaked me out quite a bit to the point that when I woke up in a dream, I immediately wanted to get the fuck out of it, sometimes achieving this purpose after much struggle against some dream characters.
I literally escape lucid dreams for half a year, then I stopped having them, and now they’re starting again, which is a release, because I was getting really bored, to be honest.

I already took a look at the forum and it seems really interesting. Hope to be here for a - relatively - long time. Cheers!

Welcome to DV, Leichen! If I may ask, where are you from? I am originally from Poland, but now live in the US. Sounds like we can learn a lot from your experience. I look forward to interacting with you more.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

Nice, how you were able to learn and progress. Don't worry, you can have any number of lucids in a day or a week. There is no rule about it. Good luck and happy dreams

I'm hardly experienced, only been lucid dreaming for two years now and this week alone I've had at least one lucid experience per day. Don't believe everything you read online. Finally, welcome and congratulations.

I just moved to Argentina a few months ago, I was born here too, but I lived 11 years in Spain (I'm 21 now), so I feel from both countries and none. It's complicated, but you probably understand what I'm talking about.

      Thanks everyone for the welcome!

Oh, yes. I know what you are talking about. I remember how awkward I felt when I visited Poland and I sought out the most touristy part of town one day to feel like I was among people who were more like me. Whereas when I am in the US, I feel much more Polish than I ever feel when in Poland. So yes, both countries and none, I do understand. Although by now I kind of am American, except that I have a different accent, and there are those cultural references at times that I do not get because I did not grow up here, but that's not a big deal most of the time any more.

Hey Leichen! Welcome to the forums. And welcome back to lucid dreaming. I suppose I don't have to say "If you have any questions... blah blah!" because your already into the lucid business by now.

Anyways, I'm from Russia (if anyone cares to know) then I moved here to the US. But I still have the Russian flag as my country flag because I love that place. And they're practically the only ones still avidly sending people to space.

Anyways, good luck on many lucid dreams to come.

      Sweet dreams.
