      Cool The Introduction of Mr.Coolcat

My name is Coolcat1711 but most people just call me Coolcat. I am a twelve year old who stumbled upon lucid dreaming and figured, "Hey, if I'm going to spend eight hours a day doing nothing, might as well do SOMETHING."

As for my previous LD attempts...

Most of the dreams that I have every night, I just can't recall. Those that I do remember, I can remember as if it happened 10 minutes ago.

Ontop of that, Lucid Dreaming has been a bit tough because I have trouble turning lucid as I either don't realize that something is off or I have trouble acting about on the fact that something isn't right.

I hope by coming here to meet some long lasting friends and achieve my goal to freely lucid dream.

      Hey CoolCat,

Welcome to the forums! You will definitely meet new people and possible friends on these forums. This is the magical land of lucid dreaming information and camaraderie. you can find anything you need to know about LDing on here and if you can't, questions are welcome.

P.S. - never give up or stop trying, even if you have achieved your first lucid dream. There might not be immediate results, but the results are the most amazing thing you will ever experience.

Yeah, I have a whole summer to work on it before I head back to high school.

Seeing that I have poor dream recall, I'm currently trying to improve it and I'm trying the WILD method as you never have to become unconscious so, we'll see how it goes.

I'm no expert but mantras and the dream journal are two excellent ways to increase recall.

I don't know how much you know about WILD but I'll throw out a couple of pointers just in case. It is not ideal to do WILD when you lay down to sleep at night. you start sleep cycles with non REM cycle. *Since most lucid dreams require an REM cycle, it would not be the best thing to do when you try to fall asleep. Instead, try it in the afternoon. you go through an REM cycle then and it would be a great time to try it. Note: REM cycle times differ from person to person and you might need to do some trial and error to find what time in the afternoon suits you best. another optimal time to try WILD is 4-5 hours after going to bed. This is called WBTB.

Sorry if I am coming across as condescending. I don't like being a douche, I just like to help and share knowledge

*This sentence was written in consideration of a thread that I might have seen that may have talked about whether or not you need an REM cycle to lucid dream

      Thanks for the tips LucidSandman.

As for what happened last night

Last night was really weird, I wasn't really thinking about anything when I went to bed and the only thought I did have was "Go to sleep."

So about 20 minutes passed and I figured I would just lay down and relax.

When I couldn't get to sleep, I figured that I would just watch how I did fall asleep so I'd be prepared when I went to wild later in the night.

About 10 minutes came by and I couldn't feel as if any part of my body except my head was there.

Don't know if that was just deep relaxing or if it was apart of a dream onset, but either way, I rolled over and was able to fall asleep.

It took about an hour to actually fall asleep so when my alarm went off for me to wake up, I said screw it and went back to sleep.

When you lost sense of your body, did you see anything behind your eyelids such as shapes or vague images? Did you hear anything unusual?

The thing is, I think I was there but because it was so early(I wasn't trying to WILD, just fall asleep)

      I don't think I hit REM so I don't know, I might be close.

I didn't think a new introduction was necessary but...

I'm 13 and back at dreamviews.

Sadly no progress over my "Vacation."
