      A WILD newbie appeared!

Hello to all! I am a newbie to LDing (and quite the lazy one) and have come here to hear the many tips, tricks and mostly stories.

      Hopefully, I won't get banned. :3

If you're lazy you're pretty screwed, lucid dream requires a lot of work.
look at me, i'm over 8 months trying and still didn't have one.
but who knows, maybe you have luck, it depends on person.

welcome to DV btw, enjoy your stay

Welcome! Perhaps you should try to get the lazy out of your system, at least for lucid dreaming. Laziness won't get you anywhere, I know from experience . No reason for you to get banned unless you start having an issue with breaking rules. Follow the rules, you won't get banned

There are something you can do as a pracctioner to do decide what kind of practise you want.

I would like to refer to it in two ways:

      Do less to do more.

      or

      Do more to do less.

Sounds a bit confusing? Well what I mean with the first "Do" of each sentence is that what you do in the day and the second "do" of the sentence is what you do during the night.
So you can basically choose to not do anything lucid dreaming related during the day but then you have to be prepared to do more of that work in the night.
Or the other alternative which is to do alot of lucid dreaming work in the day and not have do as much in the night.

What do I mean by that? Honestly it's a bit hard for me to explain, but I'll use an analogy of my other hobby which is to talk to girls.
If I spend my whole day playing video games or doing lazy things that doesn't make me think highly of myself (Doing less), I can't go out in the night and talk to girls and be confident and carefree natural badass that makes you feel like a baws and attracts the girls. And therefore I have to do more that night out to get in the right mind space and state to get out of my comfort zone and feel like a baws, unless you drink alcohol but that has alot of negative consequences as well, for example you are not relaying on your own skill so when you wake up the next day you will feel like it wasn't me it was the alcohol... So this was an example of Doing less (during the day) to do more (during the night).

So what's the other way? Well to go to the gym, meditate, talk to girls during the day, hang out with friends, read a book, study, do stuff that makes you feel good about yourself.
And when you go out that night and talk to girls, you wont feel like you have to say something to impress etc. You can just speak your mind. And since you feel good and attractive, the girls will feel good around you and think you are attractive.

Ok back to lucid dreaming. It works the same way and here are two examples:

      Do less to do more:

If you walk around with a stressed mind during the day and never take the time to become present of the moment which is crucial for lucid dreaming and maybe not going to bed at a regular early time. Then you will not be mentally prepared for the night and will have to do more. Such as think and worry about timing your REM cycles, WBTB and stay up, use mantras and autosuggestion, use alarmclocks.

Do more to do less: (This is what I do both for pickup and lucid dreaming)

I actively stay present to the moment, meditate daily in order to clear my mind and I go to bed regularly and early (22:00) and by doing this I simple just have to go to sleep and I'll naturally experience more awareness and vividness in my dreams. It's also easier to WILD. And the techniques are no longer NEEDED, however can still be used because they will be ten times more powerful and effective, but they are no longer a necessity in order for you to have a lucid dream that night.

      TL: DR

This whole post might have seen very off topic, but what I wanted to show you is that if you are too lazy to do thing during the night you can compensate by doing that work during the day or the other way around. But in order to get something you always need to take action in one way or another.

      Sweet dreams!
