Was it four...maybe five months ago I had my first lucid dream. I had been reading up about it the previous week, and was completely ecstatic about the whole thing. Granted, it only lasted for maybe a minute, but that was a huge step in my eyes. Perhaps I can recall what it was about... I was in the parking lot of a church I believe, walking down the sidewalk. I noticed that all the cars and people were in slow motion, and that's when I realized I was dreaming. To be sure of this so I didn't make an ass of myself outside of a church, I kindly walked up to the older gentleman in front of me and asked him a question. After he didn't respond I knew that he too was moving in slow motion. At this point my adrenaline was at an all time high; but I was already starting to notice the dream fading away. I wanted to do at least something worth mentioning, so I decided to fly. I got about seven or ten feet up in the air before I woke up in a sweat. It felt so real and natural... I'm not sure how to describe the feeling other than having no gravity. (Those with similar experiences might relate.)
Needless to say I wouldn't shut up about it the following day. I was really excited to learn more, but the timing was unfortunate as a close family member passed away and midterm exams were coming up, so I had to put it on the back burner for a while. Present day, here I am. I'm excited to learn more about lucid dreaming and how to induce it, and to hopefully experience another in the near future.
Glad to have joined the community. :)
