New from the US. Learning many things!

Loving this site already! Learning many new things! Surprised to find I am a natural lucid dreamer but am very curious to learn about more. This is really the first time I've looked into dreaming though its always been a huge curiosity for me! Looking forward to learning more!

Hello and welcome to DV! Ah, a natural lucid dreamer... don't mind me, I might be just a little bit jealous of you. Hahaha!

There's always room for improvement, yes, so may I suggest you start a dream journal? It REALLY helps with dream recall. And how do you usually lucid dream? Do you realise in the middle of a dream that it's not real life?

      Thank you!

Basically that's what I do. I just realize I'm dreaming. Total control of me and my decisions. It is still amazing that I have many morals in my dreams. You'd think you could just let go, but no I still won't do many things in my dreams. Flying is pretty awesome though! Or being a wolf or hawk.

What does a dream journal do? I have been told I have amazing recall and that I must be making up my dreams because I can remember little details. But my dreams are very vivid. There are times I have to question if I really dreamed something or if it happened.

Wow, you can fly and turn yourself into animals already? That's AWESOME!!!

Dream journals help with dream recall, but they're also fun for people who generally enjoy thinking back about their dreams (like me). It's really cool to get your dream journal one day, check an entry made a year earlier and remember the dreams you had. You can start a dream journal right here, if you want to! Pretty simple!

If you'd like to increase how often you have dreams, you could start working on reality checks. They help a lot, trust me! You can also start a thread on our Intro Class forum, there'll always be someone there to give you some feedback/advice. And finally, dream control. The more you practise and get ready for it, the more you can control your dreams.

Oh, and I almost forgot! We have tasks of the month too, which might be interesting to you. Basically, every month, there'll be a new thread here. You check it out and, next time you get lucid, you can try to get one (or more) of the tasks done. It's just for fun, but it's always nice to have a goal!

Crap, I actually did forget something haha! When you find yourself in a dream is known here as DILD. It's one of the main techniques for lucid dreaming. You can read more about it and about the other techniques here.

I will definitely be looking into all that! Hopefully start a DJ!

The transforming into animals has always been easy for me. The only mess up that happens there is which one I turn, sometimes I have to fight it a bit to get the one I want.

Flying on the other hand, started out terrible, kept falling and nearly hitting the ground or actually hitting the ground. I'm afraid of heights IRL so I do wonder if that sometimes comes into play in my dreams. Over the years I've gotten better at the flying thing but if I lose control I'll fall or if I start to believe too much that its real, especially while being "chased" I will fall. What keeps me up is thinking of the next target. Much like running IRL, I picture me making it to the next tree. I do that while flying in my dreams.

I am excited!!!! Dreaming is maybe an addiction for me as it is my own little escape from reality!
