Hi, I'm Aaron and i haven't been in touch with my dreaming for a long time. I'd say it started a few years ago, the nights would suddenly pass me by and when i woke in the morning i had no recollection of dreams i had experienced while sleeping. Dreaming can be such a special experience, its something we should all look forward to, dreaming at night. I think it can be linked to depression in some cases too as i do kinda feel sad that i haven't been dreaming, when i wake up in the morning i can tell its missing, i just wish i could experience dreaming better. Right now im not really dreaming at all and i miss it. I need to enter that side of the world at night become im something of a dreamer in real life so to not have that connection there makes it pretty dismal for me. Idk if my case is specific, i'm sure i'm not the only one. What does someone do to start regenerating their dreams? I'm ready to take whatever advice at this point. |

Aaron, Just to clarify because your post sometimes says that you have not been dreaming: you dream several times every night, everyone does. So the problem is not "not dreaming", but rather "not rembering dreams." |

You may say I'm a dreamer.
But I'm not the only one - John Lennon
Hi, so its been a while but i think im ready to commit to this. A few months ago i went from not recalling any dreams at all, now i can wake up and recall one or two. About a month ago i started sleeping with all the lights, tvs, computers, etc off. So that there are no outside distractions. Also im still trying to limit the usage of my cell phone before i go to sleep as this is one of the biggest distractions. Using a phone at any time of the day disrupts a persons mindfulness and awareness greatly imo. We get sucked into it and sadly our minds go to the gutter nonetheless. Just my thoughts, so i try to better prepare myself before i go to sleep at night so its just me and my thoughts. Also just as of last night i started listening to binaural beats again. Theres an app on my phone (i know, i do use my phone shortly if only to turn the binaural beats on) which lets me set to a specific tune/frequency of binaural beat. Idk if this really will help, in fact last night i when i listened to it for the first time i woke up not recalling anything almost as if the binaural beat blocked out my dreams. Weird. I was tuned to an Alpha wave. However when i woke up in the morning i noticed it had stopped playing and i fell back asleep, it was then i had a dream that i recalled. Ill continue to use the binaural beats just to see if it helps and keep writing my dreams down when i woke up. I officially started last night/this morning. My only concern/question is this. (maybe i'll get better at it but idk) when i dream, when i wake up i'll know that i did in fact dream but the dream happened so fast i didnt even realize that i was dreaming until i awakened. So how can i slow it down and become more aware, they happen in a flash it seems and i dont even have a chance to tell myself "you're dreaming". I'm im trying to achieve lucidity this could be a huge problem. Any comments on that? Thanks everyone, i hope to speak with some of you soon and have exciting things to share. |
