Hypnotist Magician Musician Turned Aspiring Lucid Dreamer

Hey everyone! Name's Caleb, 19 year old from Virginia in the good ol' USA. I've tried lucid dreaming before (I think WILD technique but I did it at all the wrong times) and have experienced lucidity in past dreams. I've also kept a dream and nightmares journal long before learning about LD's and have had some crazy vivid adventures in my dreams!

      Examples include:
      1. Being the king of a mountain castle housing fantasy creatures from human discrimination and persecution, had the ability to be bigger than the mountain itself and ended up fighting North Korea over it.

      2. Battling insanely over-powered (but hot) witches that threw nuclear explosions around like it was going out of style with nothing but a mortal weapon (rifle).

      3. A few zombie apocalypse survival based dreams/nightmares, one of which was vivid enough to easily fill out several pages worth of details.

I ended up wandering to this site when browsing my lifehack picture folders (images with helpful hints for improving daily life) and found a picture on lucid dreaming that suggested this site and here I am! And I am finding it very interesting indeed and am planning to improve my dream recall in anticipation of lucid dreaming ASAP using my dream and nightmares journal.

I hope to be able to use Lucid Dreaming to more productive ends once I've achieved and experimented with it

Hello and welcome. Quite violent dreams, wouldn't you say? Anyways, since you've already got a dream journal, you have a bit of a head start. I can only advise you (and you may be doing this, already) to look for dream signs and to reality check regularly. Any questions, ask away.

      HI Remoon.

Sounds like you have an interesting life, buddy!
My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

I would say my dreams are more like action movies as of late, so there is usually fighting involved as well as suspense . It beats the constant nightmares I had when I was younger.

If there's any questions I have right now it would be this:

Does practicing lucid dreaming increase your chance of having a false awakening?

I've been amusing myself with reading other people's DJ's and going through past one's they've written if they were interesting enough and I thought this was a sort of trend that popped up when I was browsing through them. I could be completely wrong but I'm just curious.

I'm don't think so. If it does, then I'm the exception, at any rate. I think the greater dream recall and general awareness may make them more noticeable, but ultimately its probably down to the individual. Some will have them often, some won't.
