Hello and welcome. First thing to note is that HH (which I believe is what you mean by symptoms) or hypagogic hallucinations is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Confidence is indeed key and that should come the more you practice. I'm assuming you're using WILD, in which case, you should try it either during an afternoon nap or 5-6 hours after you go to sleep on a night and you need to maintain your awareness when transitioning (simply counting works for me).
