Hi everyone! New here, but not to dreaming

I found this forum when searching for related matters. It seems to be a really interesting and good place to learn more and take part of others views on various subjects having to do with lucid dreaming, shared dreams etc. Before signing up, I read browsed the threads a bit, and there really is a lot of interesting ideas and views here. Great.

      A little about me:

I've been interested in lucid dreams, OBE:s, meditation etc. for a long time, and also had some lucid dreams and a few OBE:s as well. Most of my dreams tend to be vivid, although not lucid. In lucid ones, I've managed to fly among other things. I've gone lucid sometimes, when really haven't liked the way the dream is taken, and therefore taken control of my actions. An example of this was when I was small, and had a recurring nightmare. When having had it several times, I managed to take control and turn around instead of fleeing, in order to get to the bottom of things, once and for all, so to say, as I was tired of trying to get away. Other times, I've just wanted to do it, without no specific reason. I have noticed that at the times I've had the opportunity to meditate more, my dreams also become even more vivid, and naturally more lucid ones as well, with better control. Not so strange, after all.

For the time being, I am trying to get to the point where when becoming lucid, I will be able to change the dreamscape to one of my own choosing. I also think it would be interesting to see whether I could learn how to heal, as is mentioned in this forum and naturally other things too. Would be really interesting to find out more of the levels of dreaming; to see just how far (or deep) it's possible to go. I found the post about the Tibetan Dream Yoga quite interesting, and as a matter of fact I've heard a similar explanation having to do with meditation. This I find very intriguing.

Other than these interests, I'm interested in most things really, and easily become interested in new ones I come across.

I furthermore believe that there is much more to the mind, than most people think, and that we really are just at the beginning of exploring it, seeing the top of the proverbial iceberg, so to say.

Dreaming - ordinary ones, but especially lucid ones - is one way of finding out more, so it will be really great to be taking part of this forum.

Hey AstralExplorer, welcome to DreamViews! Sweden is a nice country (^o^)b

Yep, DreamViews is a great resource, glad you're finding what all DV has to offer. For changing the dreamscape check out BrandonBoss's http://www.dreamviews.com/dream-cont...-teleport.html and http://www.dreamviews.com/dream-cont...eam-scene.html

I've heard that meditation helps with dream vividness and lucidity. Some people practice visualization while meditating so maybe that's it, or maybe the focus during meditation helps.

We have a lot of great members and Dream Guides on here, so if you have any questions just ask

Good luck on your lucid dreaming journey, I'll be seeing you around the forums!

      Hey Mismagius,

Thanks for the welcome. Happy to be here. Yes, it's a nice country. Have you been to Sweden?

I will definitely check out the info you linked too.
Regarding meditation, I think both of the things you mentioned helps, as you get more in tune with your mind's internal stimuli, as you shift your attention away from the outside world. In that way it seems that you expands your inner world, and who knows, it may also be that your inner world connects with the outer when you get more advanced. At least it definitely appears to do...just consider shared or mutual dreaming for example.

I noticed that you indeed have great members here, when browsing the topics. Sure, I will ask if/when there's something I wonder about. Since I'm not new to this activity and field of knowledge, so to speak, I will help out whenever I can.

Thanks and good luck to you as well.

      Hi Culpabilis,

Thanks for the welcome. Yes OBEs and LDs can be quite similar. I've achieved OBE:s through meditation, and that way gotten out of my body. Haven't gone very far from it though, so far, but since I know I can achieve it, it's more a matter of practicing and exploration of that state, than anything else.
The LDs I've had has been when awakening within a dream either spontaneously, or willfully taking control over it. Have experimented a bit with inducing them when awake by autosuggestion and the like, for example via affirmations. As stated before, I find that LDs are more frequent during periods I've been meditating more.

As for shared/mutual dreams, I don't have anything confirmed, so far at least, but I've had a few - especially one - that have been a premonition and played out some months later, almost exactly as experienced in the dream.
Do you and your friends have any special method or how do you go about it?

Sure, it would be fun and interesting to discuss the topic more.

Seems like we've come to a great forum, don't you think?

Thanks for the welcome cvdmehden. Happy to be here. It certainly looks like it, doesn't it? Great to see other newcomers too. What are your main interests in LDs?
