      Red face Newbie from Germany

Hey guys! My name is Christopher, I'm 17 years old and I live in Germany.
I first heard about lucid dreaming a few months back but today was the first time I really got interested in the topic. Lucid dreaming sounds amazing and surreal at the same time to me, I definitely want to try it.
I created this account to learn more about lucid dreaming and to have some people to talk to who can help me when things don't work out the way I want them to. Tonight I will try lucid dreaming for the first time. Even though I know it probably won't work the first few nights I'm incredibly excited to start this journey with you guys.

That's all I've got to say for now, have a good night! (This phrase just got a totally different meaning to me )

Hey there Christopher and Welcome! I am also still rather new here I started out at the Dream Views Acadamy. It might be worth checking out. You can make a good plan of what you want to be doing there and get some easy feedback if things don't work out. Secondly I'd say it's a good idea to believe you are getting a Lucid dream tonight. If you really believe you are getting one, you have a big chance you will. Then again I got that one out of reading the forums. I have no experience myself yet sadly But tonight will be my night!! Or even better: our night!!

Hey Priority! Thanks for welcoming me
Yeah, I already checked all the different categories this forum offers, much information, definitely helps a lot! I guess I'll just read some more stories of lucid dreams to get more excited about lucid dreaming, read that helps. And I'll try believing it'll work tonight!
For how long have you been trying to get a lucid dream? Good luck, I'm sure you'll get there soon!

      Welcome Christopher! (:

I'm pretty much like you, I'm from Germany aswell and just a little older (18). Although I'm not very new to lucid dreaming I didn't achieve a lot lately (I still consider myself a beginner), mainly because I've been really busy and stressed (school ._.) up to the point where my attempts and everything became infrequent and I didn't even want to try anymore, but luckily that's over now.

Reading through some posts here today I decided that I really should focus more on lucid dreaming and that I was missing out a lot... hopefully success won't be far away (for both of us)

(I'm kinda shocked atm because I just realized that I've been registered for almost 2 years now and wasn't really active since then )

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck and lots of fun on your journey
      regards, Alex

It was creating a workbook in particular that I personally found very nice. To keep all your thoughts on one page. And I am only trying for 2 nights so far. Since I have been looking up on LDing and doing some excecises I'm now starting to remember more and more of my dreams And they are more vivid and intense. So I guess I'm making progress already
No LD as of yet, but It can't be far off now

Hey Crossline, welcome to DreamViews! I met you on the irc

You might like reading other members dream journals, not only are they fun to read but they also help with motivation and inspiration.

I agree with what MrPriority said about believing you'll have an LD, that can really help. The DreamViews academy is also very helpful, it's neat to look back at the progress you've been making.

Let me know if you need help with anything, see you around the forums and on irc!

Hey Christofer! Greetings from Germany too
You chose the right forum here if you want to get to know more about LD. Here you are definitely in good hands

Keep being motivated because that's one of the most important thing in my opinion because LD don't really happen over night and is indeed a really a long journey ^^

I wish you good luck and success tonight. Hope you can achieve your goals as soon as possible!

      Sweet dreams Crossline

      Hey linh!
You're right! I've met some really nice people in here
I really hope that I'll stay motivated, but so far I don't see any problem with motivation.

My goal for this night is to remember more details of my dreams. This is only my second night, though, so I'm positive I'll have a LD at some point.
Good luck to you aswell! I see you've had some LDs, hopefully you'll have another one tonight

      Have a good night!

Thank you I'm very keen to have one this night or also more than just one!

To improve your dream recalls i would suggest you to have regular bed times and it's better to wake up in intervals e.g. you sleep for 2,5 hours wake up afterwards and go to sleep again. I also recommend you to write down all your dreams and keep that dream diary carefully if you not have one yet. That has helped me a lot!

I'm really interested in your progress so let me know about any progresses you make so far so feel free to message me anytime you want and also if you have questions about LD or something related to dreams

Since I'm still ins school regular bedtimes should not be a problem. Waking up in intervals is a problem, though. My alarm is set to max. volume since that's the only way I get out of bed This alarm going off every 2,5 hours would drive my family nuts I've already started a physical dream journal and I'm excited to fill it with dreams and read through it once it's filled with a few dreams.

Thanks for the offer, I'll definitely message you some time

I'm positive you'll have a LD tonight, just believe in it

      Good luck!

woot german dreamer party! welcome Christopher.

That dream journal was my main entrance to lucid dreaming, it is an excellent and fun tool. Never overestimate your recall abilities, write everything down in the first few weeks/month. I only skip it if I just have to sleep well this night or if the content of the dream does not seem to be worth it... but that is most of the time a bad decision. I sometimes wake up from a dream, can remember it just fine and then just "ah well good enough" and sleep... next morning I only remember fragments, if anything. Don't let this happen

Also read up on the different techniques like stabilization, dream control and reality checks. I have the impression that just knowing that digital clocks work odd in dreams and can serve as a RC made me dream of one. Same with light switches. I cannot remember dreaming something irrelevant like this before reading about LD. Now I already found two lightswitches as a RC delivery tool in my dreams.

It all works on expectation and will/intention. So just know that you will LD tonight, the odds are good that you indeed will be.

      Hi Djaxup!
I started my dream journal yesterday and I will write down every single dream I will have from now on.
I already read about all the different techniques and I'm doing my best to apply them.

Still waiting for my first LD but I know I'll get there at some point

Good luck with your next LD!

Heey - German dreaming party indeed!!

      :pillowfight:

      Warm Welcome to you Crossline!
May you cross the line into lucidity one of these coming nights!
Superb plan to have a workbook in the academy - best you can do!
I recommend you listen to some of these, including the older ones: DreamViews Podcast
And if you want to know the best way of staying motivated of them all - or for getting motivated of course:
      http://www.dreamviews.com/tasks-mont...ne-2014-a.html

Sweet Ophelia throws this party every month, and if you do one of the basic tasks - they are mostly so, that you "just" need to get lucid and can do it - then you get a pair of these buutiful wiings!! And a second pair for something more tricky!
