      Here goes nothin'...

Hey everybody! Good to meet you

I guess I can't really recall ever having a lucid dream before. I've done a pretty good amount of research about it though, and it sounds really awesome. I've already got a bucket list , although I apologize if I'm getting ahead of myself... Once I get my technique down, I'd really like to use lucid dreaming to talk to the characters of the books I'm writing, get to know them and see them in person. Maybe that's weird? I just think it would be good for inspiration and stuff.

But anyhow, I started a dream journal back in January, but I kind of abandoned it after a few days... I'll have you know I don't really have too many dreams (either that or I just don't remember them). But I started recording my dreams again just last week, the ones I could remember. I have to tell you, it's been getting easier, and I actually feel like I'm having more dreams (or remembering more), like the recording them helped somehow... Sure they weren't lucid, but I guess it's an improvement.

Another reason I joined here is because I don't know anybody that shares this interest. I guess it would be good to have a community, support I guess. It'd be cool to have some LDing friends

Anyway, I do have one question: what method would you recommend for a beginner like myself? Thanks

Welcome to Dream Views! Good luck on getting your first lucid ream. Working on recall is always the first step. You do dream, and you dream alot, you just need that extra thing working on recall gives you. Give it time and the dreams will become more vivid too.

Thanks! I'm gonna try my best to keep with my dream journal, that'll be my main focus (maybe some reality checks too). However long it takes, I'm sure it'll be worth it

Yeah, it was hard for me to get in the habit of doing reality checks and filling out a dream journal. So much other things are on my mind during the day. When I wake up if I do not have enough time to fill one out, then I just slop down something really quick and hope I remember details later on. Welcome to the forums, I am also a bit new here.

Are you sure you are awake? Do a reality check.

I know, me too Dylan. Lately, I've been trying to set aside a bit of time in the morning (like five or ten minutes) to fill out my dream journal, and not get antsy about the other stuff I have to do. As for reality checks, it's whenever I happen to remember (which is a few times a day, so not horrible)... Hey, thanks for the welcome
