      Salutations Everyone

I've been lucid or semi-lucid in my dreams since childhood, and have lucid dreams most nights without fail. They've changed in scope recently and I decided it was time to find someplace to talk about them. Three different places led me here, I can take a hint.

I hope to get to know other people on similar journeys with similar interests and to see if the changes taking place in my dreams are happening to others.

One example, I'm having serial dreams. Dreams that are days to months apart, that pick up where the previous one left off, or pick up somewhere later down the timeline. The previous dreams are always acknowledged by dream characters, and they've gotten more frequent with greater detail.

      Happy to meet you all!

Oh cool, and they're lucid dreams as well? (In which they pick up later on down the timeline)
That sounds awesome! You have naturally occurring persistent realms in your dreams.

I have a similar thing happen in my dreams, but it usually only happens multiple times on the night or for a few nights in a row.

It's great to have such an experienced dreamer join the forum. I look forward to reading about some of your ideas and your dreams as well! (If you decide to start a dream journal here to share your dreams )

Happy to meet you as well, welcome to the forum!

Hey Alezhandria, I love your avatar!

Your dream experiences sound super interesting, I look forward to hearing more about them!

I had a series of dreams when I was younger that would pick up where the previous one left off, just like you describe. After several of these, I had a huge gap of about 10 years, and then I randomly had a very profound dream where the recurring dream character returned and taught me some important lessons. I have it written up somewhere, maybe I'll post it in my DJ soon.

There is a DV member called Hyu who has a very interesting dream journal - he has multiple recurring characters/locations and has been having adventures with story progression for years.

Welcome to the forum, I hope to see more of you!

Thank you for the welcome. Yes, they are lucid when they pick up. There is always some point in every dream I remember that I'm aware that I'm dreaming, so technically I'm lucid nightly. Of course, I assume there are a ton of dreams I don't remember, lucid or non-lucid, it would make only make sense. Lucid has simply been my default nightly state since I was four or five.

That said, I don't take the lucid state for granted and it is not always equal. There's are dreams I can influence and control with ease. There are dreams where I can tell if I exert too much will, I will wake up and I have to relax back into them and let them continue on. In some I become lucid at points and ride along, content to see what unfolds, rather than to attempt to change or understand anything. I never know before going to sleep, I just take what I get.

Even with regular lucid dreams, there are dreams that stand out because of the high level of lucidity, clarity, emotional resonance, and the amount of details that can be traced back to other dreams. I've had an ongoing series of dreams since last December. The furthest back a current dream has connected to a previous dream is one from this past spring that went back to one in 2012.

It's all over the map when taken as a whole, yet distinct changes in frequency, clarity, concept and emotional attachment has been easily identifiable since January of 2012. This year saw another "bump" up as far as highly emotional, recurring, hyper-real or hyper-surreal types of dreams. I don't know if it's age, circumstance, nutritional changes, what have you, but I'm in a good place to finally have time to explore and figure some things out.

I've had this exact thing happen! This is precisely why I decided to seek out a forum, because I couldn't believe it was just happening to me.

Thanks for the welcome, and the recommendation. I'll definitely check out the DJ and work on finding my place here.

      Welcome Alezhandria!

You dream experiences sound really cool! We have people here with similar stories. As AnotherDreamer mentioned we call these persistent characters and places. I can see Dreamer has already linked you one of the good dream journals to have a look at. I highly recommend it too.
