Newbie here, with a serious question

      Hi guys,
I have registered here as I keep having a recurrent dream that I cannot explain. I hope you guys can help. I keep 'dreaming' and I am fully aware of it at the time that i swallow and die. There is no choking, just the simple act of swallowing, only one time i swallowed my whole body(like a genie going back in the bottle, with a whoosh sound). Last night i could actually feel the nano second between swallowing and waiting to see if I had died.
I do not fear nor worry about dying
I do not dwell on death
      I have no relationship/family/work worries
I am not looking to change careers/empower myself or becoming a 'new' person
I am not sick/no one close to me is suffering from anything i am aware of
As you can see I am at a loss to understand why i am having this dream but as i have had it so many times it is starting to 'freak' me out a bit.
      Thank you in advance.

Wow, that's weird! I have no idea what that dream could be about. It usually helps me to understand my dreams better by starting with thinking about how I was feeling during the dream in question. How do you feel when that happens in your dreams? Does it come out of nowhere?

Anyways, Welcome to Dreamviews! I hope that someone here can help you to understand your recurring dream better.

It comes out of nowhere, never part of any other dream. I feel calm, just waiting to see the outcome after i've swallowed. I don't stress much and always only go to bed when i'm relaxed. I had a spate several months ago when i could only sleep for 4 odd hours at a time but that has now resolved itself and i'm getting at least 7 hrs sleep a night(no meds at all). I am just intrigued at how it's specific to the act of swallowing!Someone must have an idea hopefully

I think that sometimes the ways of the subconscious mind are simply beyond some of our understanding and that the only real answer might come from within. My advice is keep dreaming and try to ask yourself why this happening. Easier said them done I'm sure, I've been having my own unexplained issue I've been trying to solve by asking myself, but I seem to start losing my voice as I do.

I think AnotherDreamer and nw6484 have said it
      1) How you felt is a major clue
      2) It's your subconscious only you can unravel the secret message, for sure.

I try to use the dream yoga approach and diagnose by checking to see where I was feeling sensations most strongly in my body on awakening...was it chest, abdomen etc
these relate to the different chakras within your body that have some block related to your dream.
Throat chakra = feeling of lack of peace
Chest chakra = feelings of powerlessness
Abdomen chakra = feelings things being out of your control
root chakra = feelings of being insecure

from that I can get somewhere towards working it out. By asking myself questions like, What made me feel powerless? etc

      ciao meow
