New to this forum, but not to lucid dreams

      Hello,
I stumbled upon this forum when I was googling 'lucid dreams.' I have always been fully aware that I am dreaming while in my dreams for as long as I can remember. I always tell myself in my dream that I can simply wake up if I want to. I will have a dream here and there where I am not aware I'm dreaming, but this probably happens once or twice a year. I thought that was pretty normal and that it happened to everyone often. I remember being told before that I have lucid dreams when I would talk about my dreams with other people, but I never really thought much about it until today. A friend of mine told me today that lucid dreaming is uncommon and that it shouldn't be happening as often as it does for me. Is this true? I don't see how it's hurting me in any way... I enjoy the experience for the most part.. and when I don't, I simply tell myself to wake up. I know very little about lucid dreaming and how common it is, so I'm hoping to learn from others on this forum!

      Hey Kaleigh

A friend of mine told me today that lucid dreaming is uncommon and that it shouldn't be happening as often as it does for me. Is this true? I don't see how it's hurting me in any way... I enjoy the experience for the most part.. and when I don't, I simply tell myself to wake up.
it is uncommon in regard that most of the people are no "naturals" and dream nearly their whole life (with some exceptions as children with nightmares for example) only not lucidly know that this was a dream AFTER waking up or dont remember their dreams at all.
but you will find people like you here every now and then so you are not the only one.
And no one says that it is unhealthy or hurting in any manner. you can feel lucky with it to do it without effort. feel free to look around here and read some Dreamjournal entries from some advanced lucid dreamers and you will see what is possible and what a potential you have there.
most of the people here try really hard and have something between 2 per week to 1 every 2 or 3 month... they all have big goals and things they want to try and a lot give up of them give up after some weeks or month because they dont make the progress they would like to.

if you have more questions concerning this forum or something feel free to ask. i can link you some (for me)interesting people that do awesome stuff with their lucids
