Dreaming of real places.

Hi all, I'm new here but maybe someone can help! I've been a lucid dreamer for a long time. I can wake myself up and renter the same dream. I can control dreams (most of the time). I've dreamt of future events more times than I can count, although often just mundane activities. I often dream of places that I've never seen or visited that later turn out to be real. Quite recently, I had in inexplicably vivid, I mean I could have actually been there, dream of driving down a coastal road in the south of France. I've never been to the south of France nor had I seem pictures of this place before, but it was so real I felt the need to google to see if I could find this place. It's real. Everything about it was so spot on, even down to the colours. I've experienced this kind of thing before but not like this. Has anyone experienced something like this before? I've never given my dreams too much thought, but this has caught my attention. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Wow, my mom has had this happen to her once. I was little when she told me, and so my reaction was if it scared her. She said it was just weird and cool. How does it make you feel, though, personally? I think it's a really amazing ability to have, honestly. After seeing your thread, I tried to research (to try and help) but I think I'm a bad researcher. Or there's not much research done on this phenomena. But I did find a couple stories online of people dreaming of a place and in the future going somewhere and realizing it was a place they dreamt of. I don't have links but I'm sure you can easily find some by a simple google search. (I googled, "dreaming of places you visit later in life" but only 2 or 3 stories showed up about what I was actually asking)

Honestly I was so sceptical of myself in the past I used to just disregard it. I didn't know how special it was the way I can control dream, or how many would manifest themselves later I just thought that's how it was! But honestly this one was so real I was so disappointed when I had to wake myself up.. To tell the truth I was a bit startled when I found this place is real. I saw it in such detail, even down to the awareness of where I actually was. I mean a coastal road could be pretty much anywhere, but I knew this was the south of France. I mean I've had very similar occurances before, but I wouldn't know until I actually visited the place later in life. I can tell you I really want to jump on a plane and visit this place for real now though! Thank you for trying to research it! We must both be bad researchers because I couldn't come up with much either and that's how I ended up here! Lol. But thanks again!

Hey and welcome to this forum. Here some people write about things they dream come true but most of what i read was it was mundane how you described it. some people do dreamsharing. some do astralprojections and visit others and stuff... some people who lucid dream there whole life but cant control it. and even more people like you who do it on an everydaybasis and because of the long time of practice scratch on deeper instances and get to regions that most people never reach. what i want to say...here are a lot of different people doing crazy stuff that might or might not exist. in my opinion way more is possible than we can imagine or atleast prove^^ with you problem i cant help neither. i found it very interesting too. makes one think if there is a deeper meaning and maybe you should not do your "normal" life but chase behind that kind of dreams because they want to tell you something or atleast have a deeper meaning but on the other hand i think when there is a deeper meaning and it is meant to be that you get in touch with it you will sooner or later. a short vacation in south france sounds good? there is good wine and food and i was there once and it is pretty nice. Sounds like something that is not that far fetched and soon its season again

^^ me too! I absolutely believe there is no black and white on this subject. No one can ever really know if two people ever really experience the same thing! If chasing the dream for a deeper meaning means sipping wine in the south of France, I'm only too happy to oblige! But in all honesty.. I'm not a big believer in coincidence! I've always thought of it as a fancy word for people who don't like to explore possibilities .. I think I'll be expanding my research 😏
