Smile Hello, I've only had lucid dreams a couple of times.

Hi! My name is Oliver, 17 years old. I'm not exactly new to lucid dreaming it's self. I guess you could say that I took a long break from it. I used to be really interested in lucid dreaming when I was about 14 years old and at that time, with practice, I had three lucid dreams. After three lucid dreams I sort of lost interest in lucid dreaming for a while, but now I'm getting back into it. I started using my dream journal again just last weekend. In just one week I wrote down fifteen dreams. They are getting longer and more vivid every night. Along side my dream journal, I constantly ask myself "is there anything crazy happening?" and "how did I get here?" through out the day everyday, and follow up those questions with three reality checks. First I try to push my hand through my other hand, then I count my fingers, then I try to breath through my nose while pinching it. I'm not too sure yet, but I'm beginning to believe my dream signs are my dad, my sister, and candy. Anyways, I hope to have a lucid dream soon! Also can't wait to hear about other peoples' dreams! Thanks for taking the time to read this

how stable / long lasting were your three dreams, short enough to lose interest so soon?

my first intentional lucid dream was a good one but the next two lasted only seconds, tho in one the dreamscape tore in half, I was running quickly towards my objective but the half of the dreamscape I was on was moving backwards even faster and the other side was quickly pulling away
Sure LUCID DREAMS are all fun and games until someone loses a third eye.

thank you for replying My very first lucid dream started off as a false awakening. I woke up in my bed, walked to the bathroom, did my business, then did a reality check. When my hand went through my other hand I got really excited that I knew I was dreaming. Too excited that I woke up. Again, I went to the bathroom, and did another reality check and it was another false awakening! I couldn't believe it. But then I woke up again because of my excitement. Right when I woke up I did a reality check and I was disappointed to find out that I was in waking life. My second lucid dream is sort of similar to the first. It was a false awakening, went to the bathroom, but this time there was a huge black and white umbrella leaning against the wall. I questioned why it was there and I did a reality check and realized I was dreaming. I was starting to get excited, but I told myself that I need to calm down and I rubbed my hands together and it worked. I was calm again. I went to the door of the bathroom and I opened it to find that my dog was completely shaven. As in he had no fur at all. It was kind of creepy but I accepted it. I decided to go outside of the house to explore the dream world but as I walked to the front door of the house, I started loosing lucidity and when I got outside I woke up. My third dream was when I was in my cousin's house. He lives in Georgia and I don't. So when I saw my dog in his house, I wondered why he was there. Then I wondered why I was there. I did a reality check and I became lucid. This time instead of just walking around, I wanted to try something supernatural. So I tried to create a fire with my mind. I didn't know how to do it so i guess i just sort of closed my eyes and tensed my muscles. Nothing happened and I woke up. Even though they weren't really long, they were at least lucid dreams which is pretty cool. Also your dream about the dreamscape ripping in half seems pretty scary

(sorry for long reply btw lol. short answer to your question, they were all relatively short and i had barely any control)

Definitely you should practice reality check on every awakening it seems to work for you

My first intentional Lucid dream, involved a reality check, I woke up (for real) went to the bathroom for real and then went back to my bed and sat down, I held up my hand (I do finger check three times putting up hand and taking away). As I brought my hand up I said 1st "this" 2nd "never" 3rd intended to say 'works' but instead started to say that but then said "w....ait a minute it worked last time". Suddenly I remembered a nice lucid dream (that had probably started out as a false awakening) I had just stepped down from the front steps and looked out in the street it was hyper-realistic but there were no cars however there were more than 50 people slowly walking the same direction toward the main street. Also it was broad daylight. Standing on the path in the middle of our all rock yard, I brought up my hand five fingers, I didn't really believe it was reality tho I put my hand down then brought it up again and counted 1, 2, 3, 4 and a transparent pinky makes 5. I stared at the pinky which immediately became solid, but I kept staring, then I noticed that my fingers where longer than normal, so the two middle fingers decided to get in character and began to shrink, as I watched them they also began to bend, and to rotate. I was like B... S... (I point out that the RC served 3 purposes 1) to detect the dream, 2) it stabilized me causing my first lucid to last a long time, and 3) it was what caused me in waking life to recover the dream which I had forgotten). I decided to command the dream people and called to one of them I brought up my hand and said 'come here' they immediately began to move towards me, another DC countermanded my order saying 'no don't go' my DC immediately stopped. I was incensed I called to the DC again "COME HERE" my DC began moving towards me again, and again the other DC said "no Don't Go Over There". I couldn't believe it I was being dream heckled. I thought as you did to make a fire ball or something and take the DC out, but thought better of it and just turned so that I could not see that DC anymore and commanded a different DC to 'come here'. The DC began to move towards me but as they reached the curb I noticed that the grass in the Yard was about 2 feet tall (remember it was/is an all rock yard) and it was coming up at about an inch per second, I realized it was going not only to block the DC but also engulf me, I brought up my other hand and was trying to stop/control the grass, while still summoning the DC towards me, but I realized it was hopeless, I tried to do a third thing and perform a dream task as I felt doomed, trying to do 3 things at once was too much I destabilized and woke up.

Having had such a long first intentional lucid dream taught me many things like importance of initial focus, testing, and the realization that my subconscious would cause my dreamscapes to fight me. Very fortunate indeed as the dream was likely 3 minutes long lucid, but as I said the next two lasted only seconds. So you need more lucids to have ones that will keep you interested motivated.

3 months to this first lucid, then one month each to the next two, then 4th and 5th lucid in the following month, when I joined DreamViews and added in 5 historic lucids from childhood I could still clearly remember (tho I probably had like 3-5 per year for several years) so I set my count to 10 and now at nearly 100 Having 84 more lucid dreams in the last 75 weeks or so since then sometimes several per weekend sometimes dry spell of 2 or 3 weeks, some as long as near 15 minutes but 1/4 of them in the few seconds 1/4 of them in the <min range 1/4 of them in 3-5 min range and 1/4 longer including a few epic dreams of ~10-15+min

Wow your first lucid dream seems pretty awesome The fact that you were able to control DCs in your first lucid dream is amazing to me! Even though another DC stop the first one from moving towards you, you still got it to move. In the three lucid dreams I had I had no control over anything. All I could do was walk around. Although that's all I was able to do I'm glad I was actually lucid and had fun walking around the dreams for a short amount of time. Also I find it cool how you're almost up to 100 lucid dreams! I can't wait to get up to that number of lucid dreams anyways, I hope you have many more lucid dreams in the future and I hope the same for myself. Wish me luck
