      Old poster returning

I used to browse this forum when I was younger, but I my interest declined in lucid dreaming. But after being diagnosed with PTSD and having chronic nightmares and coupled by the fact that I noticed that because I was more mindful as a result of my lucid dream practice I was happier, I decided I would return to lucid dreaming. I recently browsed the /r/luciddreaming forum on reddit, but it is more beginner oriented and unsatisfactory. Sooo.. yeah. I'm mainly lucid dreaming for mental health reasons and to learn more about myself. I kind of lost interest in dream control and am more attempting to learn about and gain discipline over my mind.

      Glad to be back!

hello and welcome back to Dreamviews! I too returned after a long break about a month ago. It doesn't take long to get back into it so enjoy your lucids! I to find myself happier when I am lucid dreaming. I think it is because of the self awarness that comes along with it. Well, that and the obvious wish fulfilment aspect. haha

back, jabre! I remember you. Sorry to hear that PTSD brought you back here. But lots of youngsters start lucid dreaming to get over their nightmares, or at least realize what they are.

I know you say you are not interested in dream control. But just so you know, I have heard that you can change your nightmares. If you have a recurring dream or a theme, you can visualize a different, happier end during day. Then when in a dream, you may be able to do the same. I know that PTSD is a response to some real life events, so not sure if this is even doable, but maybe something to think of.

Good luck and let us know if we can help.
