      Cool Mikey5555 Introduction!

      Hello Dreamers!

I am here because as I'm fascinated by lucid dreaming, as I'm sure you all are too! I am interested for many reasons.
      1. I want to have fun in my dreams! I currently almost never remember my dreams and if I could use that sleep time for something good then that's cool with me.
      2. I see a lot of potential in lucid dreaming for mental/emotional/spiritual growth
      3. There are some dream phenomenon like prophetic dreams, healing dreams, shared dreams and more that intrigue me too much to not at least try to explore!
      4. I believe there are many benefits of lucid dreaming that carry over to real life. After LDing, I always wake up with a child-like sense of curiosity and wonder, whereas usually its hard to get out of bed

There is one way which I was intending on using this website which I'm not sure if its possible, so if there are any experienced users here please let me know if this is within the rules.
I want to post every day outlining the efforts I made that day to lucid dream and if I remember any dreams. I was thinking of using the dream journal feature for daily posts, the only thing I'm not sure of is if I'm allowed to use the dream journal for entries where I dont remember any dreams. For example, a post without dreams would be like this:
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      28/1/2020
      Fell asleep at 1AM.
Before bed, I read a few of my dreams from my dream journal, did a LD prayer and then 10 mins of meditation.
Woke up at 6AM, no recall, attempted FILD. RC failed so I went back to sleep.
Woke up at 7:30AM, no recall, attempted FILD. RC failed so I went back to sleep.
Woke up at 9AM, no recall.
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Would this sort of use of the dream journal feature be allowed? I feel like daily logging of my attempts will help keep me on track, increase my motivation and my intention to LD.

I look forward to getting to know some of the regular posters here! I would like to be an active part of the community

Hey Mikey 5555, welcome to Dreamviews! Those are all great reasons and motivations to want to LD.

I'm not a moderator or administrator, but from what I see posting your daily progress within the appropriate forum space should be totally fine! For posting in your DJ when you didn't remember dreams, I think that is okay. You can even set your DJ to private if that is your preference. Daily logging definitely helps with dream recall and motivation for me!

How many LDs have you had throughout life?

Bienvenue sur le forum! Quel temps fait-il à Montréal?

You seemed to be going in the right direction. Like you are already have been a member.
Yeah, agree on what Zelcrow said. What you posted should be fine.
As for setting your DJ to private, you can ask even ask someone to help you with that. One of the members here would be happy to help.

I have had approximately 10! I first learned about LDing and started getting obsessed with learning about it so with a bit of effort, I was able to have a few within a few months I think. My interest dropped off though as I wasn't getting the results that I expected. Now I understand how patient and diligent I must be to create a proper LDing habit. The rest of my LDs have been mostly spontaneous, except for a couple that I have had very recently after applying a bit of effort. I look forward to many more! I'm sure after a few weeks or months of daily logging on here and employing lots of techniques I will be able to at least semi-consistently LD. The lucid challenges particularly interest me! As soon as I can consistently induce LDs I will get working on the TOTM/Y

How many have you had Zelcrow? Looks like you have 800+ entries in your DJ, what percentage was lucid?

Merci pour le bienvenue!(I'm actually not that great at writing in french hahaha!)
      How do you know french?

As I am writing this, it is 2:58PM. Is that very different from you? What part of the world do you live in?

The Dream Recall compendium looks like it will definitely help me! I will thoroughly read through it very soon, thanks!

No, I'm an American but, I have been all over the world. I've picked up on different languages here and there. I mean I'm still learning, though. When I was little, I used to visit family in Montreal. I used to read the signs and menus that were both in French and English. However, I'm actually way better at different languages in my dreams. LOL
I've literally had my own clone speak to me in Scanavin and I understand it even better than my own native tongue.

That's great that you've had several LDs like that. I'm sure with effort and diligence you'll have more consistency.

Though I have over 800 DJ entries, I've had 29 LDs since I started consciously trying (I'd had a few when I was a kid spontaneously and from my own version of autosuggestion). So a rather small percentage have been LDs. I still enjoy my non-LDs, though, so I write them down every morning. When I am consistently working on an induction technique like MILD, I have LDs pretty frequently. I need to delve back in!

I like your picture, by the way. I'm a Futurama fan

There is also a beginner task(s) that you can try. HERE: https://www.dreamviews.com/forum-not...ml#post2228326
However, somehow, I have a feeling that you wouldn't need to for long.

I'm on it! I just did my first DJ entry and it took me like 30 mins! I'm sure all that practice recalling is going to help a lot. I'm going to try and get 1 beginner challenge this month (So tonight haha) and I'm going to crush the next TOTM

You can do it. I know you can. Have you ever seen Cardinal television series?

Yeah me too. I love the history of Paleoanthropology, Aminals, and Quantum Physics documentaries. What kinds of documentaries?

I didnt know paleoanthropology was a word! I just looked it up and seems very interesting! What should I watch to get introduced to paleoanthropology?

I love documentaries to do with mystical experiences, amazing feats, quantum physics, psychedelics, etc. Anything that will broaden my perspective on things and blow my mind hahaha.
Recently the best documentaries I have seen have been "The Dawn Wall" on Netflix and "Journeys to the edge of conciousness". The Dawn Wall is about these 2 climbers doing something everyone thought was impossible. It's really beautiful and emotionally moving. Journeys to the edge of conciousness is best described by the IMDB description XD

"Take an animated journey into the depths of the human mind, exploring three psychedelic trips that changed Western culture forever. Sixty years later we sit down with twelve leading current thinkers to ask: "What can expanded states of mind teach us about ourselves, the world and our place in it?"
If either of those sound intriguing to you I think you would enjoy them!

Have you ever had a dream about meeting your own dream-self before?

Well, if I have time, I will try to look into those shows and stuff.

I haven't met my self in a dream before! It's on my list of things to do though. I have 2 goals, to meet my younger self like 4-6yrs old and talk to them about their feelings, their thoughts, their traumas, etc. My other goal is to transform into a woman and then have sex with my male self in a dream. It's gonna take me a while no doubt but It really piques my curiosity so I have to try it.

I got the idea to meet my young self from DarkestDarkness in the challenge I issued. Check it out and see if you're interested in joining! My feelings wont be hurt if you dont want to though hahaha

I had a dream once that I briefly was myself as a baby, I remember that I was in my mom and dad's room, it was dark. It was probably like about 5:00 in the morning or it was still dark. I remember at one point my mum was holding me but, I mostly remember that I was lying between them on theirs. Yeah, this one was a little more personal than some of the others. Then I was holding my dream baby-self. I could feel the warmth of their bodies as I nestled between them. As a baby, I cooed as I softly drifted off to sleep. It was a really strange feeling knowing that the baby you are holding was you, you know?

Did that dream make you feel anything when you woke up? Like comfort, peace, sadness, love?

Love, Comfort and secured. I remember I had this new baby smell and everything. I was very content in the dream and I can still feel that to an extent, in my waking life, even to this day. This was right before I found out my cousin had her baby. I also have had dreams about different realities. Not so much of time travel but, I got to experience my parallel realities. Quantum Physics stuff.

So yeah perfectly not confusing, right? Relative dream entanglement.
