      Hoi

Hi, I'm Meiseki. I don't know how active I'll be on this site but I'm hoping it'll be a source of both information and motivation for me. One of my major goals is going to a persistent realm : > I don't know what else to say sooo see you around maybe

What are your top five(or more) lucid dreaming goals?

Sorry for the kinda late response!
      1. Visit a persistent realm, in particular Empty SEKAI from Project Sekai and the treehouse from OMORI.
      2. Meet a dream guide or reoccurring dream character.
      3. Snowboard.
      4. Interact with subconscious.
      5. Practice backflipping.
      6. And anything else cool that pops into my head throughout the day.
      Thanks for asking

I like those goals. Do most people choose video games for their persistent realms? Also what cool things do you think are possible from exploring the subconscious?

Those are just places that appeal to me, I'm not sure what other people choose... but I'm sure Hogwarts is popular As for exploring the subconscious, I heard that it's only when lucid dreaming that both your subconscious and conscious brain are awake, so there's probably a lot you could find out about yourself. I was thinking about asking the dream to surprise me, and asking my dream guide (when I find one) questions about myself or the environment, or even finding a philosopher and seeing what they have to say.
What about you? What're your goals?

My goal is to lucid dream at will and beyond that I haven't given much thought into the secondary goals.
However I to am interested in the mysteries of the sub conscious. My greatest obstacle right now is sleep hygiene and increasing dream recall. Are there any challenges that you have faced or overcome in your lucid dreaming journey so far?

That's probably a goal a lot of us have in common So far, my biggest challenge has been trying to be more aware of the world around me (ADA). I am the most unobservant person on Earth; I didn't even know my bathroom walls were green until I was 15. Just doing it for five minutes tires my brain out so much I end up blanking out for double that time. But I've been reading posts by Sageous and he says that self-awareness is more important, so I think I'll be focusing on that from now on. What techniques are you using?

Welcome to the forum Meiseki! This site is absolutely chalked to the brim with invaluable information on many of the topics which you have already mentioned. You will find many people here with a wide variety of experiences and many clearly written guides for all occasions.

Seems like there's no one-size-fits-all lucid dreaming technique rather there are many paths up the mountain of self.

For me personally when I was first getting my bearings, having an hourly chime on my phone (I found a real nice grandfather clock app that sadly no longer exists) and would just very sincerely reality check everytime it went off and I could hear it. I'd make it a sound that is different from your regular notifications to ensure you associate the hourly reminder with a sincere moment of checking your reality in whatever fashion that feels most comfortable to you.

I've had great success with the transfer over of this habit into the dream space in a pretty decent timeframe, of course it's different for everyone. Once you solidify the habit of regularly checking your reality it becomes inevitable in the dream state.
Cheers and definitely have a look around the forum there's many decades of combined wisdom here, Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome and advice, DorianMask! I do have an RC alarm set for 2:30, but I probably should make it hourly All my lucid dreams so far have either been the result of random moments of lucidity or WILDs, so it would be nice to have a more reliable habit seep into my dreams. I'll definitely be making use of the information on this forum, and thanks again for the warm welcome
