      odd feelings...

last night i went straight to bed, and completely relaxed myself. when i was relaxed, i felt a weird sensation, like i was suddenly shrinking or something, its very hard to explain. i heard voices that quickly got louder then stopped, kinda scared me.

is this anything to do with LD'ing?

It could be something to do with the first phases of WILD. Maybe you should check out the tutorial, see if anything matches.

Last night I tried some sort of meditation thing before I went to sleep, and I had a sensation similar to yours, minus the voices, before I fell asleep. It was almost like I was sinking down into the pillow, farther and farther, as I became almost numb, (almost like a small amount of laughing gas), but still felt perfectly aware of my surroundings at the same time.

I would also like to add that that was the fastest I have ever been able to fall asleep. I can usually lay in bed and watch the hours tick by.

Sounds exactly like the beginning stages of a WILD to me. If you can acheive this so easily you shoudl read the tutorial and practice WILDs.

Hot Spot, what meditation method did you use? It takes me a long time to fall asleep, even when I try to meditate. I woudl lvoe to try what you did.

I dont thin it was really any particular method, but whe i went to bed, I closed my eyes, and just cleared my mind. I replaced everything I had been thinking of with one thought: "Tonight, I am going to dream and remember." I am not sure whether my method was particuarly effective or if I was just really tired, but after a few minutes concentrating on that single thought, I began to have the sensation that I descibed.
