Your worst enemy is doubt. There have been times where I've done nothing but Tell someone about the concept of lucid dreaming and had them come back to me the next day in complete shock, explaining their first lucid experience.
In waking life (real waking life, not the movie) we are programmed to doubt things that seem far-fetched, but when it comes to dreaming (and lucid dreaming) nothing is. You can see a horror movie and have a nightmare about the movie that same night, right?

      Same concept.
Good luck, and welcome to Dream Views.

This should probably be in the Entertainment section, and there are two threads on this movie already as I recall, but all of that aside, I thought Waking Life was a great movie. It really hit the nail on the head as far as lucid dreaming goes.

The only thing that really irritated me about the whole thing is that waaaaay back when I saw it for the first time, I was so caught up with the visuals that I never even really caught on to the freakin point of the movie!

I didn't find out about lucid dreaming until years later - on this site!! I could have started lucid dreaming a long time ago had I just tried to stick with the plot!!!

Watching it now, I can only kick myself for not getting it the first time.
