      Confused

Im kind of confused as to what to begin with. I set up the dream journal and I know that i am supposed to ask during the day if i am in a dream or not. I think im supposed to wake up after a certain amount of time? kind of confused. what time do you set the alarm for? what else is there to do?

PS - I do not think i have had a lucid dream before and i have about 0 dream recall, maybe 1 dream i kind of remember each month

Try to remember your dream every time you wake up. Ask yourself. I know I just had a dream. What was it? Write down anything that comes to mind in your journal. At first it may only be a location.
      -I was a work.
That's it. More details will become available as you train your brain to access your dream memories.
-I was at work and was standing in my cubicle...
The more your brain can consciously access dream memories, the more you will know when you are dreaming.

As for setting the alarm, if you usually wake up at 8 am, set the alarm for 6:30. When it wakes you, get out of bed, go to the washroom and go back to sleep. At 8 am, wake up and log any image from your dream to you may have.

      Thanks

Thanks, ill use that for the next night. This night i simply went to sleep repeating that i would remember my dream. I had more success than i have ever had. I remembered a lot of details for the journal of two dreams. However, I am surprised at how unorganized my thoughts were.

you'll be amazed at how quickly you start remembering dreams if you diligently keep your dream journal, and write down dreams as soon as you wake up and remember them.

i went from a handful every couple months to 3 per night on average, just by keeping a DJ...this seems fairly typical 8) keep at it!

      some tips.

-when you wake up, try not to move around or stretch right away. maintain the position you woke up in...then try to remember what you were just dreaming.

the, when you have a rough outline, write it out, and try to remember the finer details.

      --------

heh, don't worry about your thoughts being disorganized...as you become acccustomed to your dreaming mind, you'll realize they have their own strange organization.

good job so far, and happy dreaming!

Hi, i just found this websites, i think ill stick around...

Anyway to answer your question.. for me remembering a dream is pretty easy. Right before you goto sleep all you have to do is tell yourself "I will remember my dreams! As soon as one dream ends I will wake up and remember it!" Say it once or twice that should be enough and just relax your mind, think of nothing and fall asleep

After you start remembering your dreams, Lucids comes randomly.. I am pretty new to this myself but I love flying around in my lucid dreams.... (for now) heh

Hope this will help you a bit.
