Ah, I remember this. This is exactly how it was for me first too. I got all exited and just wanted to have a LD, I did RC's all the time and I went straight on to the tecniques. But, it didn't work. After a couple of nights of trying, I gave up. Then, a few days later, I tried again but this time slower. I started using a dream journal, and only practised my recall. After a few days of practising, I felt much more confident. I tried a WBTB and a MILD, and to my big surprise, it worked.
So, just give yourself time! Practise your RC's, and your recall a few nights. I know how you feel, you don't wanna waste the nights when you can try a tecnique, but trust me, it is worth it. Welcome to the forum, by the way.
