Hello everyone. I'm taihen, and I live in South Africa. I've been lucid dreaming for about 2 or so weeks now, and have had 3 lucid dreams (WBTB and a bit of MILD), and a couple nice vivid ones and such... no luck with WILD yet. I am happy to have discovered lucid dreaming because before I started trying I couldn't remember any dreams at all!

Anyway, I've got a few questions that I haven't seen answered anywhere else, so I'll post them here and hope other newbies can also glean some information from any replies.

      1. I've been having many different dreams but the vividity varies dramatically. How can I ensure that my dreams are vivid?

      2. I am doing some experiments with WILD. How long should a WILD take? How do you know it is working, and..

      3. If a WILD isn't working, what is the most common problems and how do I correct it?

Sorry if this should be in the Attaining Lucidity part of the forum, but I am new so I thought I should start here, and I also here that noobs generally have problems with WILDs.

      Any suggestions?

      I am from South Africa

Hey there, taihen Welcome to the forum! And I see you've already welcomed other newbs to the forum as well - nice job!

Unfortunately I can't give you any useful advice about WILD since I've never WILDed in my life - it's just not my thing. But as far as vividness goes, you win some, you lose some - don't worry if some are less vivid than others. You're not going to have completely awesome and vivid dreams every single night.

Keeping working on your WBTB and MILD techniques - these are great techniques for beginners, and they happen to be my favorites as well. I'm sure you're already doing this, but keep a dream journal! It's so important to your LDing journey.

If you haven't already, give the tutorials a good read-through. And you may be interested in the adoption program once you've been a member for 2 weeks - see the Adoption Guidelines for more information.

Anyway, good to have you aboard - I look forward to seeing you around the forum. Please feel free to post any questions or experiences you may have. Good luck and have fun!

I'm with Burns in that I haven't managed a WILD, but there actually are people who have There are some great tutorials on the subject if you want to check those out and you can also PM the authors of those if you feel you need more information. Also, feel free to search around, as there's a lot of information floating around here.

As for the vividness of your dreams, mine tends to come and go as well. I'll have a week of really exciting, enjoyable dreams that I hate waking from, and then I'll go through a week of dull, mundane dreams where I wake up and go "huh?" I'm not sure if there's a way to controll that, but sometimes I think the dull ones make the exciting ones that more enjoyable.

      Sweet lucid dreams!

Thanks for all the welcomes! Yeah, I'll guess I'll just have to keep on with the practice. Its going to a long night...

I've got a friend who has almost managed a WILD. Then again, he's been dreaming for years now, and has only discovered WILD recently. Sounds amazing though, but I'm sticking to WBTB for now.
