Dear Cain,

I agree with Howtzer, you MUST believe. Autosuggestion can almost literally be translated to creating belief. Just take it from all of us here at this site, "it IS possible. It is TRUE. EVERYONE can do it. It is part of YOUR physical, biological, psychic and spiritual makeup." All of us can't be lying!

As well as keeping your negative thoughts and patterns in check and replacing them with positive and affirming ones, keeping a certain discipline (without straining) is important too. You MUST keep a Dream Journal and absolutely fall in love with it.

I hear you saying, "but I DON'T dream, or at least I wouldn't call them proper dreams" but I say back unto you that that is exactly what you write when you wake up (as soon as you do, don't be lazy, laziness does not generally pay off- and don't confuse relaxation with laziness either). It won't take long before you stop having to write down abstract ideas and feelings from your elusive nocturnal adventures upon waking until you have "proper dreams" to document. And don't knock your "improper dreams" either, they may be really special and effective in achieving not just lucidity but "other" weird and wonderful phenomena.

My general advice would be: learn to love the process and become less fixated with the end result, because there is no end. And never beat your self up. A hundred people will all tell you, it WILL happen. When you finally tell yourself that and mean it, then the "wait" will soon be over.

Dae,

Rob.
