Lightbulb

Hey everybody, I've been lurking around for a while and I have to say this is the best forum(in general) I have ever seen.
I first heard about lucid dreaming after looking up sleep paralysis on the web for my g/f in March. I realized I had accidentally done it once or twice, and when I heard you could teach yourself to do it, I made it my passion. Now I usually have lds once a week, but my dream control sucks right now. Well there you have it... my boring intro....

Tada.....

I promise to be more interesting next post.....

hiya, welcome to the board, and congratulations on your lucid dreams!

You might wanna check out the General Lucid discussion forums, and the dreamsigns and recall forums.

They will have lots of advice on attaining lucidity and improving your recall.

We're a fun bunch, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM one of us.

HEY

It is neat to see how many people have had experiences in life and later on realized what this is was.
Thanks for the compliment on the Forum.

Hah... yerp... I'm a cat person... I'm also a major night owl, you'll see most of my posting between 12:00 and 6:00 am.

BTW, pray/wish luck to the kitty in my avatar.... she just went blind, and she's pretty close to the end of her 9th life..... She'll always be my favorite lumpy, lazy ass, freeloading feline.

Why has she gone blind? What's going on with her?

We took her to the vet and he couldn't explain why she went blind....
But she is very old, she seems to be doing a bit better navigating, but we'll have to get her checked out at the vet every once in a while, to make sure she isn't suffering...

It's sad.
I picked her out myself from the animal shelter when I was just 2 years old... that was one of my first memories..

But that's pet ownership, it's a way to help you cope with the inevitability of sickness and death.

I'll miss her, but her memory will live on in the form of her kitten meow-meow(who is also a lazy freeloader).

She should definitely be checked at least twice a year due to her age.

Geriatric cats can lose eyesight just like elderly people, they get cataracts and glaucome as well.
But blindness can also be due to hypertension (high blood pressure) which causes too much pressure in the eye causing detachment and bleeding of the retina resulting in blindness. Hypertension in cats is usually secondary, meaning another disease is causing the high blood pressure. Two common diseases of the cats causing hypertension and blindness is hyperthyroidism and renal (kidney) disease.

So to rule out a serious medical problem that is causing the blindness, have your vet check:
• systolic blood pressure
• thyroid level
• renal values

Wow Burns, You sure know your cats. I'll call my vet tomorrow and see if he already checked those things or not.

My vet seems like a smart guy, and a good person... but he is very busy(he's the only one in town).
But he always has the best interest of the pets in mind... so he'll be glad I brought it up if it turns out to be an issue.

My cat thanks you Burns, friend to cats everywhere.
