I was wondering, are lucid dreams completly clear visualy? In my regular dreams they dont seem clear, is it just me? Are all dreams as clear as glass? When ever i dream, i wake up trying to remember what i just did. All i can remeber is stuff that seems out of order, but it was the original order. My real dreams (Non-LD) seem blury and fast paced!

Another question, is there anyway i can make my dreams more clear?[u]

P.S. Im trying really hard to get a LD, but im new at it!

Comments are ok even if they're bad!

: Im very confused about that

Hi,
Some of my dreams are blurry, some are clear. When I'm in a LD, I just make it more clear, if it isn't allready...
It's hard to describe how I make it clear, I just "will" it, since I usually have complete controll of my dream.
Maby being more aware when you're awake might help. Try to notice everything around you and use all your senses.

Hey Keuin

Well.. the answer depends. But generally when you're stable in a lucid
dream it is much clearer than in a normal dream.

To improve clarity as soon as i attain lucidity I look down at my hands and then
slowly around at my surroundings. This improves detail greatly.
When I first started having Lucids my dreams were actually totally black. Even now
I'm not exactly a very experienced dreamer so my lucids often start out with total blackness
until i examine my hands

Basically yes, Lucid dreams are much clearer and detailed than normal dreams.
Good luck on your way to lucid dreaming and you'll never know exactly what i mean
until that first dream when everything snaps together and you become clear headed
and in control!

Hope this helps

Ello.

I've only had one LD and that was last month and I can tell you that it was very clear. When I became conscious that I was dreaming I decided to sleepwalk and walk out into the loungeroom which I did. It was so clear and realistic I thought I was walking into the loungeroom until I started to levitate and realised I was still dreaming.

Another unusal (at least I think it is unusual and others might like to comment on it) was that I actually opened my eyes during my dream, i mean actually. It was daylight and I could see out of the bedroom window to my 4wd parked in the driveway.
When I started to levitate in the loungeroom, I opened my eyes and saw out the window to the 4wd. When I closed them again I was back in the loungeroom. In my dream I went back to bed and opened my eyes again and saw the 4wd again. I tried to look around but could not move my eyes or head. I memorised everything that I could see including a green ribbon hanging from the wardrobe door handle at the edge of my periphial vision before waking myself up and seeing everything that I had seen when I opened my eyes whilst dreaming.

So, The clarity of a dream can be exactly like real life so much so that you cant tell the difference between the two and thats one reason for doing reality checks.

Taking B6 before you fall asleep is supposed to make the dream more vivid.

LD's can be very vivid. The more you practice, the better you will become. Like what Bonsay said, you can try to be more aware of your surrondings and more observent. I think its one of those things that you will find your own techniques on how to make them seam more real, and enjoyable.

When I was new to lucid dreaming, I was trying soo hard to have an LD. I later realized that I was trying to hard and this was what was holding back from having a lucid dream. So I just stopped everything I was doing(related to dreaming)for a week. Then I had a lucid dream.

Also what zxc said about the B6. A good source of B6 are banana's.

I've been having lucids forever and, until last summer, they were like you said, blurry, etc.

When I started to TRY to have lucid dreams, it completely changed. Super bright lights, tactile sensations, vivid detail. This time around hasn't been as good... and the only difference between then and now is that I meditated everyday. I'm going to start taking that up again, for sure!

Hey everyone at Dreamviews.
First id like to say that this is an awesome website.

Ok, ill get to the point. I have had 3 lucid dreams;

The very first one was when i for some reason (dont know what triggered it) i suddenly realised: "hey, im floating off the ground". Instantly it was as life like as reality, my shorts, the trees etc. But i closed my eyes and woke up. So if all LD are that good, that's going to be pretty sweet when it comes to flying!

The other two were much hazier, (you know the feeling). So i am yet to try the hand rubbing thing, its just that in my dreams im always acting without my own acord.

Person,
PS by the way anyone have any good names for books on ld?

Start a dream journal, the more you concentrate on remembering your dreams, the clearer they'll seem.

But that can also cause scary nightmares, so be careful.

My quote thing isn't working at the minute but...

"Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge is supposed to be the
ultimate starter book. I've ordered it from Amazon (about £10 here in England) because
of the reviews given on this site.

Oh, and other good advice I can give is to head over to the tutorial section. There is
a reading list topic there if I remember correctly.

Good Luck

Stephen LaBerge is the man who scientifically validated LDing, and still is the leading researcher on it. Any books by him, like the one suggested by EternalStarshine, are good references.
As for the B6, it really does help dreams a lot. A single banana probably isn't enough for a noticeable difference. Try taking 50-100 mg (but not any more than that, ever) a half hour before bed. It'll make your dreams amazingly vivid.
As for general lucid clarity, it varies. I've had dreams where things were so blurry it looked like I was in the original DOOM game. On the other hand, most of my lucids are so clear that I can see details several times smaller than what I can see in real life. It just depends on the level of lucidity and your skill at LDing. The more you work at LDing, the better it gets.

Yeah, clarity of LD's varry for people. When I started out, I couldn't really feel anything, but the last one I had (which was about a few months ago, >_>) was so vivid, I could smell everything, feel everything, it was pretty amazing. Unfortunately, I've forgotten most of it.

Hello, again.

Thanks - Lyla and EternalStarshine

Having a dream journal will be useful as ill learn my dreamsign (if that helps). It's pretty amazing because now i can remember about 3 or 4 dreams, instead of the usual 1. Plus a couple are clearer.

I'll keep at it.
I'll also check out the book u mentioned.
