      Hello Everybody

I am the new guy here and I am extremely interested in Lucid Dreams and achieving a Lucid state in my sleep. I have yet to have a Lucid Dream but I think I am very close, because I am remembering my dreams very vividly lately. I finished watching the movie Waking Life and become interested in it first, then researched a lot about it. I then found this message board and saw that I had knew nothing compared to some of the posters here.

Every night before I sleep, I do the 61-point technique to relax my body, and tell my self "I'm going to have a Lucid Dream", although I have only done this the past 3 nights or so. I flicker lights on and off as I leave and enter rooms, carry a piece of paper with certain text that I read, look away, then read again, and I also put my left index finger to my right hand's palm just for reality checks, and I saw I've done this a fair amount lately. I also began making a dream journal yesterday morning.

What else can I do to have a Lucid Dream sooner (not rushing myself, but I'm getting restless ) and how long do you think I have?

      Thanks everyone!

some say that just obsessing about it that much will make it inevitable.

      Hi, welcome to the forums.
I wouldn't worry if I were you, you'll probably get one soon, doing your RCs and stuff. If you won't have one in a longer period of time, I've heard that taking a break (from RCs and stuff ) might help in those situations.
I don't know that obssesing about it would make it inevitable, since I got my first one in a week of obsessing (But this again probably just differs from person to person.) .

Hi I am going to say it again, since my last intro...... I have been Ld for over 2 years now, I have been controlling my dreams for about that same period of time. I am Native American my sister has the ability to see on the spiritual plain, seeing demons, and other ghosties. My dreams are determined by their cinematography. The color, smell, taste, touch, even physical pain that I experience with-in them. I ld at least on a nightly basis. I even choose not to. But when I do I have a blast. I even wake up to entertain my husband with the numerous DC and dreams. He is amazed by how many recalls dreams I can tell him about in on morning. One time (long ago) he just started at me, and told me that I must be making this all up, because I couldn’t possably have this many dreams in one night and actually remember them all. I looked at him and said don’t you. I can have at times up to 7 to 9 recalls at night. I can play with one dream all night long or change up to 4 or 5. I love the ones where I am doing things that I shouldn’t be doing, then just before I getting caught I get this feeling and I say woohhooow wait a minute this is a dream, nope this isn’t going to happen, I can rewind and change this, so I do and I decide what is going to happen! Who is going to be there and exactly what I am going to do.

One of the things I notice is that I always wake for just a mini second in-between and I feel a super high, rush before I transition into whatever I choose. I have to ask, since reading and surfing this forum, I have noticed that there are a lot of guidelines and do this and do that’s. I see a lot of you all having the same experiences and doing the same things the get the same results; yet I do notice the differences as well. I have been doing this on my own, for over 2 years now, without the guide of a site or peeps such as yourselves, so I am wondering if I am doing it wrong, though I seem to be going places. And if I chose to take on these guidelines what would really happen? I am aware that I must be on this site for over 2 weeks before I can be adopted so that is cool. But first I have to figure out this darn forum. I am in the bay area, West coast, so it is 1:46 pm now, and I don’t seem to be able to catch up with anyone. I would really like it if someone would say hi. I have so many questions, and ideas, details and things I would like to share. Thanks for letting me share. Rock on LDers’s

ps. Hello G-ram, stop by and say hi!

I'd say that if you're having so many recalls and LDs, and have that much control over your dreams, that you should continue what you're doing.

I guess I want to LD because of the fact that it expands my mind, and I'm hoping it will evolve me as a better musician.
