I really don't understand how... I know I should... to do the relaxation step were you relax a certain part of your body at a time. I have a few spots down, especially the hands, but i just can't figure out how to relax my thighs, neck, feet, knees, and calfs... everything else I can do. It hasn't really stopped me from getting to the latter stuff in the guides though. maybe they come pre-relaxed? lol.

i can give you advice about the neck thing.
my relaxation i use is just telling myself to relax every part of my body, detailed. just a tip.

for yur neck. if you think that your neck is only relaxed when its flat, you are wrong. if your neck is flat, you weould suffocate. maybe put a little curled up towl under your neck and you will feel better.

or, alternate, try thinking that your body is lead and is heavy as can be!

      hope that helps

They also say you can clench the muscles tight, then let them relax. You'll be able to feel the difference between tightness and relaxation better that way.

That's exactly how I do it if I'm confused. Try it!

the problem is that when I flex them and unflex... the unflexed muscle feels exactly like it does just laying on my bed... I can't feel the difference and have little experience trying to relax.

This is what I do. I think, gee, that's not really there. If you don't move it for long enough, it will start to feel weird, as if it's "not there". Just be patient, and try not to think about it being there, rather, think that you don't have legs, arms, etc. picture yourself without these. It's hard, but you can get it!
