      Hello everyone here in Dreamviews.

You know. To fall asleep is simple. You just lie down and wait till it comes. You feel comfortable with how you feel in horizontal constelation. It takes maybe 60 seconds , and than commes sleep.

And after this everything, you realize, that you are awake. It is morning. How is this possible? You know. There are four dreams, four stories waiting to be remembered. But .. they are rarely good remembered in the morning. Thats my story.

My name is Andrej Frlicka, i am a starting Lucid dreamer. I had one {or two} lucid dreams after which i felt really superb. I want to learn lucid dreaming. But at first, i would like to know my dreams. As far as i remember. I loved them. I love every nightmare also. Every dream is superb. Every dream deserves to be remembered. You people seem to know a lot about lucidity and lucid dreaming. But i really dont want to have LD at first. I just and only want to remember my dreams. I want to make them vivid. That would be cool. To see it in colors and feel happy about it.

I read the tutorial about the dream recall, but it feels so technical. It brings only some methods to do it. I would like to know, what keeps you trying lucid dreaming. I am searching for people who once had poor recall and who made it. I would like to find out, why do we have poor recall.

      Dreaming is superb.

      Hey man, welcome.

I think what makes some people have poor recall (besides things like too much alcohol and/or drugs, which can reduce your recall and the vividness of your dreams) is that they simply don't try to. Some people don't value dreams enough to care or bother to remember them. You'll find that if you keep a journal in which you write down whatever you can remember of your dreams when you awaken you'll become better at recalling your dreams. Practices makes it much easier.

Note down things like scenery, emotions, thoughts, characters, activities, etc... Whatever details you can remember. And try to write it down soon after waking up. When you first awaken, try to lie there for a few moments without moving or opening your eyes. Just think about what you've just experienced. I can tell you that when I go periods where I don't pay attention to my dreams my recall goes down. So, motivation and involvement plays a role in recall ability.

You'll also have better luck remembering dreams from earlier in the night if you wake yourself during the night, maybe around 5 1/2 - 6 hours after you go to sleep. If you can manage to wake yourself with a gentle alarm during a REM (dream) period, you'll be much more likely to remember that dream.

Good luck in your dream endeavours.

      Thanx for the responses.

I have one more question. Remembering some parts of a dream is simple. But I have pretty complicated and dynamic dreams. It is difficult to remember them, mostly, when they overlap. How do you deal with complicated dreams, where you remember only some parts?

      Thanx

You kind of have to just start where you remember and then work your way out from there, in both directions. That's easier once you've noted down the details you do recall.
