      Question about dream spinning?

      Hey everyone,

So last night I had my 3rd and 4th LD's Anyway, in the later one after about a minute the dream started to fade, which was in itself odd because I had made sure to stabilize it right before when I had first become lucid... Maybe I didn't stabilize it right but my stabilization worked fine in the LD I had earlier that night. Anyway, so when it started to fade I tried the spinning technique although I accidentally closed my eyes which I remembered I wasn't supposed to do. I also remembered that if you do close your eyes you can just imagine a new dream forming from that and basically go into it without ever opening your eyes, so I tried that and I think I thought it was working but then I suddenly woke up.

Do most people close their eyes when they dream spin or do they keep them open? If you keep them open how do you create a new dream scene or continue the old one? And if anyone has experience with the closing your eyes but not opening them technique, how did you make it work for you?

Any comments would be much appreciated

I always teleport by closing my eyes and imagining a new dream scene. The point is that you have to focus on the dream while your doing it, and not worry too much about waking up. Worry about teleporting/dreamscaping. My first LD I had my eyes closed to teleport, then I left them closed for 10+ seconds and was worried that I was going to wake up. I kept thinking of the dream, and opened my eyes anyway. Your in a dream, closing your eyes will only make you wake up if you think it will.

Just focus on what your doing, and whether or not your going to get where your trying to go to. Personally, I never even did the dream spinning, but I also would like to know if most people open there eyes or keep them shut while they spin.

You want to keep your eyes OPENED. The second thing you did wrong was thinking about waking up. If you have any thought of waking up it will probably happen. Just assum that when the dream fades that its going to another dream. OR if the dream is fadding try L-DEILD

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

I don't think it matters if you have your eyes open or closed. I've done both. I think that the most important thing is that you can physically feel your dream body spinning, and that your intentions are in the right place.

When I spin with my dream eyes open, it looks like the world is puking rainbows. In a good way. Er. Yeah. It's pretty.
