      Hey, Im new.(Making progress)

Hey, my name is Conrad and I heard about lucid dreaming about two weeks ago through a friend. I quickly searched it on the internet and found this useful site. Since learning about lucid dreams, I have been keeping a dream journal and my dream recall has improved. I also had (I think) a smal WILD the other night:
I went to bed after reading about DEILDs, and was planning to try one that night. I had a dream that night where I realized I was dreaming but had no control(thats happened once before) I then woke up at 3, and didn't want to forget about the dream so I wrote it down instead of laying motionless like DEILD suggests. After, I thought I might try a WILD, but just layed down. After a very short time of thinking randomly, I saw streaming colorful houses in front of me like I was driving down a road. Those went away, and my body felt numb. After a while, I started shaking violently. The shaking faded, and I was lying in my bed(I presume dreaming.) My covers then lifted off of me and were floating in the air. I tried to to an RC but after like 5 seconds I just sort of woke up. Does that count as a wild? Im not really sure if I was dreaming or awake.
Another thing Im not sure about is the dreams where I realized in the dream that I was dreaming but didnt have control and was not really thinking conciously. Were those LDs or just a dream about having an LD?

When the covers lifted, I'd say that was a dream, lol. Sounds like a false-awakening; they're quite common. To answer your last question, yes those were LDs. It doesn't matter if you had good control or not, as long as you knew you were dreaming, it was an LD. BTW, I really like your avatar.

Welcome to Dreamviews, Conrad! Sounds like you are off to a great start. Good idea to keep a dream journal. Make yourself at home and feel free to ask questions and share experiences. You were definitely having lucid dreams; more control will come with practice.

Well mostly I think just gaining experience will help with control. Just keep trying and set goals for yourself.
