I can attest for the sleeping on your back. SP is kinda wierd. One of my experiences with it kinda made me scared. It was when I was first getting into lucid dreaming and I didnt know what it was.

Maybe you could try reverse blinking. You may find a tutorial searching the forums..

Do a relaxtion techniuqe then just lie there and feel your body as if it were in a elevator going down, don't move you're body and eventually if you keep the feeling of you in the elevator for a bit then you'll start to feel SP.

      It's Important you don't move.

So, I tried that tutorial last night. Got paralysed. Didn't fall asleep from it though. I eventually broke out after 20 - 30 minutes of the paralysis and continued the rest of the night like normal. I did remember my dream pretty well though. And the paralysis felt pretty interesting too.
