Hi and welcome to Dream Views.

I can't give you any advice from personal experience with SP but I can link you to irishcream's tutorial on getting to Sleep Paralysis in the tutorial section.

I can attest for the sleeping on your back. SP is kinda wierd. One of my experiences with it kinda made me scared. It was when I was first getting into lucid dreaming and I didnt know what it was.

Maybe you could try reverse blinking. You may find a tutorial searching the forums..

      hi everyone, im new here.

i've never had a lucid dream. in fact, ive just learned about and will actually try to induce one soon. however, i do have experience with sleep paralysis. it actually happens to me all the time and usually freaks me the hell out.

since sp's been happening to me since i was kid, i became aware of what caused it. for me, it would happen if i stayed up at night, till about 4 or 5 pm. i would wake up in the morning around 9, and try to go back to sleep, but would instead enter a number of sp episodes (since i would constantly try to snap out of them).

recently its been happening to me a lot when i take naps in the afternoon after work. it seems as if i have to be really tired in order for it to happen. i can usually tell when it would happen. its when my body feels very heavy and my mind is tired as well. i lie in bed for about 5 - 10 min, then i feel some sort of a pulse going from my head to my feet, and then i cant move. then i freak out and try to force a limb to move, which i eventually do :p (something i'll have to unlearn now )

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum as of today and thought this was an interesting topic. I've never heard of anyone that wanted to experience sleep paralysis. Whenever it happenes to me it's not on purpose and I usually start to panic because I can't move. It somewhat scares me when it happens also.
