I actually like letting myself get excited. yes it is true, that sometimes it can wake you up. But if you get real excited and still stay in it. Your excitement can have some really cool effect's on the dream.

      Thanks for the warm welcome^^
This has been helpful, thanks all
I have come very close to becoming lucid, really close, and I'm amazed how much my dream recall has improved. For the first time in a while, after attempting a HILD, I could perfectly recall my two dreams. I still can right now, and I wrote them down (or typed them on the computer, really) in my new and improved dream journal. It's odd, like I have read other places, I have always been able to become lucid in nightmares. If I didn't like what was going on, I'd blink, and voila: I'm awake again. The only time this failed was during one particular nightmare...it was pretty freaky knowing I'm dreaming and not being able to wake up...but I'm getting off topic. Thanks again to everyone for the help, I'll keep you posted
