Now, there's not much more I can say that Ame didn't already. Longer dreams occur in a normal nights sleep because the REM period gets slightly longer each cycle, so in that sense they'd be better lucid dreams, but your amount of control depends on things like level of lucidity. Also, let me stress that control is very much about confidence. I find that if I remind myself "I can fly(for example) because this isn't real, it's a dream" and mean it, it becomes much, much easier and helps me keep lucidity as well.
