      Hi!

Hi,I'm new here!Yesterday I woke up and felt that I wanted to find out more about dreams.(I hadn't seen a dream,it just came to my mind).I read for hours about Lucid dreaming but I had never heard of it again! It seems so nice!

Of course, there are times where I knew I was dreaming, but it was rare and I couldn't control anything...
Another problem is,that I rarely see any dreams...I used to have a lot,but now...

      So,can you please tell me:
1)Can I do anything to have more dreams?
2)How can I learn to do a reality check and start controling my dreams?
3)Can I practice lucid dreaming,no matter what my age is?(I'm a teenager,is it easier or more difficult?)

      Thank you!

      Hello and welcome
You will already be having many dreams a night, it's just that you can't remember them. You can increase your ability to recall dreams with time, but the most effective way is to keep a dream journal. Every morning when you wake up, lie still and try to remember anything that you can from your dreams, and write them down in your journal.
You can learn to do a reality check by just doing them frequently throughout the day. You can pick an object which whenever you see will remind you to do a RC.
And finally, yes you can practice lucid dreaming at any age. Infact the younger you are the easier it is to do, so i've heard.
Have a look through the tutorials section if you haven't already, there's a lot of help on offer in there.
Consciousness: that annoying time between naps.

      Hey there,

Welcome aboard, first and foremost. You'll find plenty of information on the forum here that will help you with your dreams.

      To answer your questions:

      a) The problem isn't having more dreams, it's remembering them. You begin to dream the moment you go to sleep, and stop dreaming the moment you wake up, and dream every moment inbetween. So you actually ARE already having more dreams, you just need to learn to recall them.

There's many hints and tips on how to improve dream recall, and writing them all down here would make this welcome message a bit too big, but do a search on the forum for recall, or ask around in a seperate questions, and with all the tips you'll get you'll be remembering multiple dreams in no time

      b) Dream control often comes hand in hand with lucidity. It's hard to control anything when you cannot make conscious decisions. On the other hand, it's easier to control things when you can remember its just a dream and that the things you want to control can happen. Therefor, the best way to get more dream recall is simply to try and achieve lucidity more.

Again, for that, check the forums, especially the tutorials, which can help you a great deal. There's plenty information both on reality checks and achieving lucid dreams.

      c) You can practice lucid dreaming at any age. I started when I was fifteen myself. It doesn't really seem to be age related (though young children often report having spontanious dreams which could be classified as being 'lucid'). The most important ingredients, in my oppinion, are having an active interest in dreams, being patient, and being determined.

      Anyways, hope that helps!

Thanks to all of you! This helps alot!

The only problem is,that in the morning,I can't remember anything at all.Sometimes I wake up remembering everything,or sometimes knowing that I dreamed but not remembering what it is.This is different. The last 2 months,I can only remember blank.Nothing comes to my mind.I don't remember seeing a dream...Anyway.I will keep trying!Thank you!

I have a technique which I use to induce lucidity - a lot of people who tried this said it increased their clarity and dream recall. I think the reason for this is the technique requires you to wake up during your REM sleep, go back to bed and then this increases recall

If you have a cell phone, set the alarm, and then set the volume to Low and put it under your pillow. This always gets me up, but nobody else can hear it.
