      Smile Very New

Hi, I'm Brittany, and am quite pleased to have found this forum. My primary interests are writing and literature, but I've long been fascinated with psychology and especially what the brain does during sleep. I've kept a written dream journal for several years but was only recently introduced to the idea of lucid dreaming. I purchased Stephen LaBerge's book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming and have begun to integrate a few of his techniques. No lucid dreams yet, but it's only been a few days and I'm very optimistic.

Like I said, this board is a Godsend. I did a Google search for "lucid dreaming forum," expecting to find perhaps a handful of scattered groups. It's nice to see that there's a place with plenty of knowledgeable, experienced folks interested in the dreamworld. I hope to learn what I can from those here and contribute something meaningful wherever possible.

Ah, I'm all over the place with what I write. Historical fiction, fantasy, "literary," non-fiction . . . And yes, dreams do help with the occasional writer's block. I think lucid dreaming will be even more productive to writing, as I'll be able to play out my plots and such. That would be an ideal level of control for me.

Thank you for the welcome, everyone. I've been surfing around the threads and reading the tutorials and can't wait to dive in. Just last night, I remember dreaming and thinking, "There was something I was supposed to keep asking myself. Hmm . . . " but shrugged it off and rode away on a horse with Sir Guy from BBC's Robin Hood. So close!

Hello Strinky and a BIG WELCOME from the biggest, oldest and most gutless Dreamviews member. (I got the trifecta)

Having a LD is the most amazing and incredible experience you will possible ever have and if you can reach your desired level of control, your writing will take on a new dimension.

Hints. Start with the basic skills of dream recall (starting a journal) and doing reality checks and making them a habit.
Dont try to become lucid, it should come to you with the developing skills. Frustration and anxiety will inhibit your ability to become lucid.

      Best wishes and again, Welcome.

      Welcome to DV, Strinky.

Everybody seems to have already covered the basics, and you've done the right thing by picking up a copy of EtWoLD, so I'm sure you'll do just fine. If you have any questions, at any time, just ask around.

      Enjoy your stay!

Thanks again everyone! Now I'm just counting down the days until I've been a member for two weeks, so I can apply for adoption. It looks like a really nice system for growing in one's LD abilities.

others tell me it was disturbing but i thought it was normal for a dream. the highlight was a shaft of cottage cheese growing out my crotch.
