      Thank you dreamviews

I've been lurking around dream veiws for about a year now but decided not to post untill I had a lucid dream. I finaly did, and it was one of the coolest things that I have ever done. Just like to say a big thank you to every one here for having so much information and support in such a welcoming forum.

      Aw. Thanks.

You know, it might have been better if you would have joined earlier, that way we could have helped you with direct questions. But nonethless, you've joined now, so its all redundant. YAY!
You do this every fucking time.
      No sweat.
      No tears.
      No guilt.
You do this every fucking time.

      Congrats and Welcome!
It's cool to hear that we helped you so much, but it'd have been nicer if you joined earlier

If you have any more questions, I'm sure you know exactly what to do, since you've been lurking for so long.
But for completeness: Check out the tutorials section or post a thread in one of the sections. Or PM someone you think can help

      Hey, damage...welcome!

You know, I did the exact same thing. I found the forum, but just read until I had my first LD, then I joined.

I'm glad that you joined--it's much more fun when you can post and interact with others who are doing this. I hope you stick around and enjoy it. Everyone is so supportive. This is a great community.

Are you going to post your LD? Or start a dream journal here?

Would be cool if you started your dream journal here. From my own experience. I know, lucid dreams will come wery soon after your first one. BTW. It would be nice, if you told us, what was your dream way till now.

      Thx. Enjoy your stay here,.

Hey guys, thanks for the quick replys.

I did at times have questions to ask, but found them answered already.

I will put my dream journal online some time soon, maybe tonight. as for my dream:

I was on my grandads boat in a port, and we were clay pigion shooting. I shot one out of the air, and saw it break apart, yet somehow this damaged the boat to the point of sinking. I was on the vurge of lucidity then, but it realy struck me when I was running in slow motion off the boat. I tried to remain calm and collected here; normally I panic and try to do everything as quick as possible before the dream ends. so I stayed calm and stuck my fingers through my hands a few times.

I looked up to see my grandad staring at me, when I realised how weird this must seem to him: I just sank a boat with a buckshot round, then did a slowmotion sprint off the boat, then stood still poking my hands. I starting laughing my head off, nearly fell off the boat.

I must of nearly lost my lucidity here as when I looked up my granddad was gone, and every thing was hazey. I nearly lost my cool and panicked here, but thankfully stopped and spun around a few times. once I was back in control, I had a go at what I always wanted to do in a dream: shoot a fire ball!

At first I achived little, and having to stop and spin around every ten seconds did'nt help, so I borrowed my grandads lighter (even though he does'nt smoke) and focused on making the flame grow. This worked well, and I shot fire into a nearby wall. Now this would be tricky- I wanted to set fire to my hand, so I could do the whole "grow the flame" trick wherever, but I thought that the fear of being on fire might wake me up. so, I pulled a bottle of bubble mixture from my pocket (no, I don't carry around bubble mixture in real life) and blew a bubble. I then stuck my hand into the bubble, and consentrated on making the bubble stick to my hand like clingfilm. it did, and when I spun around it was still there, so I proceeded to light it on fire. it stung slighty, but damn did I feel cool! (just realised my choice of image realates to my dream alot- I didn't base it on that at all, I chose that image because it has always scared me since I was a small
child.) then I set a couple of things on fire, (dust bin, clay pigion mid-air) but soon wanted something else.

I wanted to lift a car with my mind, so I stared at it , consentrating on it lifting up. It shook, but failed, as I thought it would. I think I started loosing lucidity here, due to me consentrating so hard, but woke up thinking "wait, is my arm still on fire?" After a few seconds it all came back to me, and I spent all this morning trying to explain to my family what a lucid dream is.

That was a great first LD!

You did great keeping yourself in the dream. And you did a great job with making the fire ball and being creative with using the bottle of bubbles.

      Good job...

I'm sure you'll have many more to come...

      Thanks!

I've had little dreams where ive become lucid before, but wouldnt call them lucid dreams, I screwed them up by panicking. I've read through alot of the usefull posts the night before I had this one, and somehow remembered how others kept cool and thought out of the box, and tried to do the same. I realy do think that without the "lucid expeiriences" section of this site, I would have woke up feeling increadibly disapointed about that dream.

That's great that you've been reading.

I also feel that reading others' experiences has gotten me to where I now am. There is so much we can learn from others. I have been here almost two years, and I still love to read other people's dreams and see how they handle certain situations, and to get ideas.

I also have focused on my hands or rubbed my arms to keep me focused and in the dream.

      Keep it up!
