      Introducing myself...

      Bonjour to everyone!

I am Jo from Quebec City. Curiosity brought me here... I have had concerns for several years about my sleeping habits, but more recently, it has highly disturbed me. I am far from being a "connaisseur" in Lucid Dreaming, or in Dreaming in general for that matter. I just know what I am going through and thought that maybe chatting with others about it might shed some light on the whole thing.

I just feel very tired some times, since my nights seems like they are one dream after another, from the time I fall asleep until I wake up in the morning... Very vivid dreams that won't not stop, even after I awake for a few minutes and go back to sleep, they just continue... When I wake up in the morning, I recall everything as if I had just watched a movie. Sometimes they are "out of the ordinary" dreams, but most of the time, they are just about normal situations such as work, daily activities, etc... I wake up in the morning totally unrested, because I feel like I have been so very active and busy during the whole time I slept... I want to learn to control my dreaming and finally get some peaceful rest, without having to rely on pills, which I don't take at this time...

Any ideas to help this poor girl to get some zzzs?

      Thanks in advance!

      Jo

Hi, sounds like U have too much REM in Ur sleep cycle. U can try camomile tea before bed...I heard that it relaxes, maybe it can get U a restful nights sleep?

      Welcome to the forum Jo!

Hrm, that's interesting. Maybe you can try to be completely relaxed before going to sleep. Just spend a few minutes in bed by stretching all your muscles. Work with your toes first and then go up the body, making everything stretched for a few seconds at a time. Then just relax.

Also certain drinks might help like tea for example.

I posted a meditation guide in the Sleep and Health section called 99 breathes to relieve a wandering mind. That might help.

      Ciao!

      Welcome, Jo.

Your problem is something many of us lucid dreamers aspire to cultivate! You'll find a lot here on improving recall and increasing REM.

Since you are already here and already have an incredible foundation set, you might want to consider learning a bit about lucid dreaming before working too diligently on reducing your recall and REM.

Best of luck to you! Whatever it is you choose to do, I hope you find our community helpful. There's a lot here to enjoy.

As an avocation right now. Long history there, but music remains my passion.
