      Myfirst LD and a question

Until i found dreamview, i didn't know Lucid dreaming has so many techniques. I can say that i am becaming lucid in almost every nightmare. I realise that it is a dream and then i fight with the enemy bravely and do nothing else.

Except nightmares i had 4-5 vivid LDs and and only in two of them i flied, in the others i didn't break the dream scenario but i knew i was in dream.

I see LDs since i ama child but this is my first ld after i found dreamview 3
      days ago.

I was escaping a child (don't remember why). I got in a room and closed the door. The child opened the door showed me his head, giggled and got back closing door. I knew he would do that again and when he did, i planned to hit him in the head. Suddenly i realised that it is a dream. (Escaping or fighting with somebody has became a natural RC for me. That is why i become lucid in nightmares.) I opened the door and tried to teleport the child whereever i want. After 5-6 tries i could only manage to teleport him one time. And decided to send a fireball to him but again couldn't manage. Suddenly again i realised that i am lucid and i remembered DW. And i tried teleporting by saying it and i teleported the child and teleported myself to the back of the child. İt was fun to see the surprised look on the child's face. Then i wanted to see someone dead in my family. I closed my eyes to imagine him. when i closed my eyes i felt my real eyes and when i opened my eyes i was awake I closed my eyes and tried to spin but it was too late.

Is it always like that? Should'nt we close our eyes in dreams or is it a coincidence?

Why couldn't i control my dream? I know it is hard to control DCs but i should be able to send the fireball.

And i am very sad not trying to fly instead of looking for someone. İt feels so wonderful. You feel so light when you wake up.

Flying in an LD is sweet. As for the closing of eyes, I wouldnt recommend it, for me it also results in waking up.

Hello and welcome to Dream Views.

Some people wake up when they close their eyes in a lucid dream, seems to be that way for you too. It doesn't have to be that way. I've closed my eyes in lucid dreams and have not awakened. The dreams did get blurry for a few moments though. Perhaps with more lucidity the closing of your eyes won't mean waking up.

In theory, if you know you're dreaming you should be able to do anything. It doesn't always work that way for some though. Even the best lucid dreamers experience patches of low LD control occasionally. So don't worry about not being able to manifest that fireball. Perhaps next time you'll get it.

Oh, and don't get obsessed with doing one thing in a lucid dream. If one thing isn't working for you, say flying, leave it and try something else or you may end up wasting an entire lucid dream on failed flying attempts when you could have spent it being successful at doing something else.
