      Exclamation Need Help

Hey, I'm completely new to this WHOLE thing, I'll try to explain my question. Once, I had this dream where I kind of know I was dreaming, and I had a bit of controle, but I've never been able to have anything like that before. When I go to sleep and I'm dreaming, I have no controle at all and I usually don't remember it. How do I controle what I do and actually realise I'm dreaming? I would really apreciate some help ASAP!

      Hi Inkheart, welcome to Dreamviews!

The whole site and forum is dedicated to helping you realize that you're dreaming. Make sure to read the main site and the tutorials, both of which provide helpful information on getting started with lucid dreaming. You may also want to read the quick start guide for information about the forum itself.

If you have any questions after reading those links, feel free to ask me or any of the Dream Guides (members with green names).

      Welcome Inkheart!

      Essential step:

      - Start a dream journal. Write down every dream you have. This will train your brain to remember your dreams each night. Some people can remember or more dreams a night!

Once you get your dream recall up to one to two dreams per night, then we can focus on control. The main thing about control is training your mind to recognize what is real and what isn't. Peruse the forum for all of the delicious information on dreamsigns and reality checks to aid in doing just that. Of course lucid induction techniques like those found in the tutorials are also there to help you gain control.

As Web Wave said this entire forum is there to aid with your questions. If you have anything more specific to ask, please do so. Anyhow, welcome!

      Welcome to the forum!

Well control and lucidity usually come hand in hand to be honest, however you can have dreams with just control or just realising that you are dreaming.

If you go to the Tutorials section in the link above you should find many
techniques there to help you on your lucid dreaming journey.

      Good luck!

      Welcome, Inkheart,

The others have given good advice. I'll just add that I have noticed that the more lucid dreams I have the better my control is. It comes with practice.

So for now work on the things that will help you with recall and attaining lucidity.

      Good luck.

Wow, thanks for the quick replys you guys, I really apreciate it. I've been reading this forum for about half the day today, and I've read about so many ways to do it that I'm not sure where to start. I also have another question: All of the ways I've read on how to induce this state, ask you to go to sleep for about 4.5 or so hours and I was just wondering why this is and if there's a way that doesn't ask you to do that.

PS. Thanks GestaltAlteration for the tip on starting a dream journel, I'll start one right now!

      Thanks again,
      Inkheart

Welcome to Dream Views! I'm Man of Steel and I'll be your—

Erm. I see you've already been well-greeted. I don't really have anything to add to the already good and plentiful advice given, but I wanted to say that I like your name. That was a great book.

Well you dont have to stand up after 4.5 hours, but believe me. Once you get into the idea of lucid dreaming. You will actually want it.

      And about the 4.5 hours.
