Smile 1st post: Hello everyone :) Tips?

      Hello everyone,

First I just wanted to say what a GREAT place this is. I've seen so many sites out there just selling info on LDing and they make it seem kinda fake lookng with a bunch of ebooks (not that there's anything wrong with ebooks, just gives it a cheap look)

But, here you see people, their results and people helping others. That's the best part about this forum.

I'm the kind of person who knows anything is possible (I even teach this) so I know I can become LD very soon.

I didn't even really know about LDing until I searched about it. I always knew it must be possible and I had the idea to try to make it possible and just do it. Theyn I came to this site, that was cool to see my idea was already out and other people doing it! lol

So, I've searched the forum and read alot the past few day's. Most people say to keep a log of what you dream (i'm doing that) and to do reality checks in the day (doing that some too). Any other tips for a newbie?

I've been trying to LD for a few day's now. I tried WILD with going to sleep for 4 hours and then getting back up for 10 mins to WILD. (didn't work yet) I know it takes more time)

My big problem I find is even falling to sleep. I just stay still and try to let my body fall to sleep, never happens...

Any help for a newbie would be great.

(long 1st post, I know! lol...)

Ah, a man who likes the Matrix. Always good! Here's a silly list of things to check out that may help you.

      Newbie quick start guide
      Tutorials

      Acronym List
      Start your own dream Journal

I love the enthusiasm and I'm glad to you you on the right track. I would tell you to try MILD or another technique, though it's a preference thing (trying WILD right of the bat seems a bit too much). This will also allow you to get more sleep.

Keep doing what your doing and experiment around with the different techniques in the tutorials. How is your dream recall going right now? Do you remember a dream most nights? Do you have specific dreamsigns chosen? Anyway please ask any questions and we're glad to have you here.

      Yeah, Matrix is kool

I know people say not to go after WILD as it's so hard to get, but that's why I tried it first... lol But I'm going to lay off of WILD for a week or so to get my recall more in check.

Tell you the truth, b4 finding out about LDing and I always said I don't have dreams! haha that's said right? The good news is now I know I dream and after the first night of reading the forums, I had a dream. B4 this, as I said, I had bad recall, but it's getting better.

A big problem for me now is falling a sleep. Funny thing is, was never really a problem b4. Think cuz I want an LD so bad.. lol

      Any tips on sleeping quick?

Welcome to the forum there urdreamboy

I can only really echo what everyone else has said and look at the tutorials section!

Just remember to keep up the good work and practise. The more you practise, the higher a chance of actually getting lucid.

      Welcome to Dream Views.

I've been recently having problems falling to sleep for various reasons.
I started doing very simple yoga stretches and then I lay in the dark for about 15 minutes simply breathing. That seems to calm my body and mind enough to let me get to sleep fairly quickly. Not sure if it'll work for you but it works like charm for me.

Good luck getting some sleep and lucid dreams.

I'm happy to hear about your success with WILD. I still haven't been able to do it at will. I think you're doing great.

What's the link to your thread? Your insights might help me.
