Hello Dreamviews! I'm new and need some guidance

Hiya, my name is shane. But i'm very new to all this stuff, just started reading about it today a matter a factly. I'm only 15, but the stuff looks awome. The thought of being COMPLETLY lucid seems so nice, becase i think dreams are very moving when i'm NOT in control, so being in control seems to good to be true. Is it? please tell me its not. What im really asking is it completly controlable when you can achievment the most aware stage of lucidness? Also some tips on haveing a luicid dream for a noob? Hopeing to have one tonight since all the reading about it. Thankyou and im so glad i heard about this. Also, the reason im so skeptical is because to me, this is just like a life changing type thing, i meen controling your dreams?!? and if it was 100% real why isn't like EVERYONE doing it? Maybe im just to happy with dreams but, thank and good night.

First off, welcome to Dream Views! I think you'll find it a great community with a lot of helpful folks. Yes, lucid dreaming is 100% real. I had a lucid dream just last night, in fact.

And yes, once lucid you can control every aspect of your dream. If you can think of it, you can do it/be it/create it. Some people have difficulty with total control at first, but just remember this: it's all you. All you have to do is know that you have complete control, because there is no reason you shouldn't—after all, you don't have any problem making your arm bend, do you? It's no different. As the Nike ads say, "Just do it!"

As for tips, the best tip I can give you for attaining lucidity, is to examine every aspect of your day for anything the least bit out of place, over the next several days and on. If you notice anything strange, promptly do a reality check. My favorite of these is the nose-hold, where you simply pinch your nose like you're about to go underwater and try to breathe. If you can breathe through your pinched nose, there you have it, you're dreaming. This way, when you're dreaming and notice something out of place (and in dreams, lots of things are often out of place) you stand a good chance of doing a reality check, as it will have become a habit. In doing so, you will realize you are dreaming, and thus become lucid.

Other than that, I'll just point you to the Tutorials section of the forum. probably the best to check out first are the three stickied topics at the top of the topic list. Good luck, and happy lucids!

Shane, yes.. what you've read is true! Lucid dreaming is real and attainable but don't get discouraged if you don't have one the first night you try. It takes some people days, weeks or even months to get their first LD. The key is to expect to have one but to be patient til it comes.

If you should have any questions, please ask and we'll do our best to find you answers.

Welcome to Dreamviews, I know your skeptical, and I can' wait to see when you do have one and it becomes very real to you the advantage of controling experience, I say that because regardless of reather were awake or in are dreams the world is defined by the same senses that are in dreams, simply real life is a direct feeding of sensory information.

I also hope to remove my skeptisism for my WILD method.

I wanna be the very best

Yeah, WILDs are pretty cool. I haven't been able to do one succesfully, but the ride is always intersting. The vibrations feel really cool and also you can reach states of complete mental relaxation that are very refreshing.

Good luck, the journey to lucidity is great.
