      Need some advise

I just recently became aware of LD's and instantly knew I have had them before and I can still remember them. Two nights ago I decided to see if there was anything to this and try to wake myself while dreaming and was successful 3-4 times and remembered all my dreams and repeated them to myself consecutively each time I woke, but when I woke up to go to work they were all gone. Last night I keep a dream log and recorded 6 dreams and what time they occured. I have been doing RC's before bed, but cant seem to make myself realize I'm dreaming when I am. Do I just need more practice? I have tried to research all the varying techniques but it just gets confusing b/c of all the acronyms. Need a good starting place!

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

You had a few questions in that post, so I'll try to answer them all here:
      • For remembering your dreams, you have to write them down as soon as you remember them. Dream memories are rarely committed to long term memory until you write them down, and you will likely forget them if you go back to sleep, or even just go on with your day. Write as much detail as you can as soon as you remember it.
      • Reality checks are much more effective if you do them for a reason, instead of just before bed. If you see something out of place or strange in real life, do a reality check. Also look over your dream journal for common elements (called dream signs) and reality check when you see those in real life.
      • The acronym list can be found here: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=2954
      • The tutorial list can be found here: http://www.dreamviews.com/tutorials.php

I hope this helps you. Feel free to ask me or any of the other Dream Guides (members with green names) if you have any questions.

      Welcome 0112...

I've noticed too, that if I don't write down my dreams, or at least jot down some key words, they slip away so fast.

And don't get discouraged. It takes a while.

What I did that helped me was to question my state thoughout the day ("am I dreaming?")

And learn to do WBTBs, where I get about 5 hours sleep, then wake up for about an hour and then go back to sleep with the expectaion that I will become lucid. As I drift back to sleep I imagine what it is I want to do when I become lucid. This has been my surest way to have a lucid dream.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
