Hey there, welcome to the forums!

You've come to the right place. I suggest you check out the adoptions section, too, for some one-on-one help.

Anyway, don't stress. It will come. It takes longer for some than others, and that's perfectly fine. Have you tried any other techniques, like WBTB/MILD/WILD, that sort of thing?

      Hey nate,

      Welcome to DreamViews

Firstly .. yes... dont stress. Trying too hard can ruin it too.
Its great that you already have a dream journal, etc

Can you give us more info on when and how you do reality checks?
Dreamsigns? Wristwatch (timer)? Just forced habit?

And what happens at the moment, do you simply not notice its a dream?

Don't worry about it. It took me 3 weeks to get my first LD and guess what happened: 8 seconds later (while I was thinking of what to do) it just goes back into a regular dream. Haven't had one since. But don't stress. I find that stress causes me to sleep more poorly and either dream less or just kill my recall. Really, try WBTB. Make yourself get up and stay up. It's not as painful as it sounds.

      You'll be fine.

Hey nate. As amethyst said, it takes time. and stress doesnt help.
Also, even if you dont use WILD, or any of those, waking up after 5 or 6 hours for a half hour or so... does work very well for dreams.

i just do reality checks when ever i rember [/b]
This is one way to do it, and the more you do checks and think about 'Is this a dream - How did I get here - What am I thinking' - the better.

However the problem with this is that you will only normally remember to do an RC (reality check) when you've got a chance to think.
Most dreams usually flow in a way that you dont have that much time to think about things.
Not to mention how hard it is to collect your thoughts in a dream.

So in short, doing it when you remember to, is very hard to get right. At least without learning complete awareness of yourself and surroundings at all times (not easy)

A much easier route (initially) is to look for dreamsigns (like you started to)

death and when ever i do i do a reality check (isent really worken )[/b]
Well the problem here is that you won't hear or see death all day long.
      At least I hope not

You need to find dreamsigns that (1) happen often enough and (2) that actually happen in your dreams a lot too.
Go through your dream log/journal and look for something that happens reasonably often. And try to make that your dreamsign.
And the more dreamsigns, the better

There are other dream induced methods though. Eg. do you have a wristwatch that can make a beep every half-hour or so? Nothing too loud.
If so - then turn this into your dreamsign.
Every time you hear that beep, do some RC's.
Leave the watch next to your bed at night, and you will hear it in your dreams too.

There are lots of variations - but you can call that last one 'externally triggered' dream induced lucid dreams.

Remember that its important to find what works best for you...

Heres a tip: Focus on how happy you'll be when you have a lucid dream instead of how mad you will be if you don't have one...

How about this, if you mix how hard you try to write and how hard you LD, you would try semi decent.

I don't know what legbal means by the way, and that refers to handwriting.

I think what you meant was... "Haha, I'm sorry, I do it out of second nature. I will try to use (haha, I just wrote use like "youse", I just woke up from a nap) you instead of "u" and such. I will also try to make my posts more coherent.

I just took like an hour and 15 or 30 minute nap and had the weirdest dream. It was really stressful. I haven't had a stressful dream in a while, maybe because I'm trying to hard to LD?"

      ^^ How you should post.

As long as people can understand you you'll probably get along fine with people here, but right now you sound retarded.

I know exactly what you mean. The other day I tried a WILD but accidentally snapped off it during the paralysis stage(I lost my concentration and felt my paralized body for a second, which threw me off). I then thought I was aware enough to just roll over fall asleep and become lucid. I was wrong. I didn't become lucid but I still think staying up for an hour was justified by how far along I got in the WILD. I love all those sensations!
