Thread: Hello to all!

The name's Andrew in waking life, but my handle on everything has always been WhiteLightsaber. My other hobbies are also playing guitar and upkeep on a saltwater reef tank (my baby).

I'm still fairly new to LDing, but I have already had two. Plus the multiple False Awakenings I've had without realizing (I really need to remember to do an RC upon awakening). The first one I didn't even realize Lucid dreaming existed. It was a completely random DILD. However, I am very glad that it happened. Finally after about two months of RC's and MILD. I finally remembered to do an RC in a dream. I was Lucid for about a minute, but it's a start. I've been experimenting with different techniques and it looks like I may be best at MILD and DEILD. Right now, I can only hit SP with DEILD, with no HI, but I know it is only a matter of time.

Everyone seems to be really nice here, I've been stalking these forums for about two weeks. The only question I have is for the DEILDers. Does any form of auto-suggestion work to remain still and eyes closed when waking from a dream?

Tropical fish AND Star Wars? *sigh* If only it was a freshwater tank. But I do own fish that swim in slightly salty water (swordtails). Lucky you, with a reef tank! I wish I could afford that! I'm horrible at keeping anything flora alive. Java moss is my only plant (come to think of it, it tends to outcompete any other plant I've tried putting in!). But I digress...

Try wearing an eye mask for the eyes-closed thing. It helps me stay asleep during higher light levels, and keeps my eyes closed.

Auto-suggestion CAN help with DEILDs, but a sleep mask might help more. Hard to say.

Thanks for the welcome. I was thinking of a sleep mask. I tried doing MILD last night, but fell asleep before I had a chance during WBTB. I have built my reef tank very slowly, paying attention to water quality. That is the only way I was able to afford it. Anyways, back on subject, I'll go look for a sleep mask today.
