It sounds like your brain is just not used to the feeling of dreaming. If you were paying special attention to sleeping, dreaming, and awakening, you probably just got confused and disoriented. This happens a lot to me, especially in those moments right before sleep, or right after a dream. Give it a little time. I bet your brain is just forming new pathways, and developing new habits.

Did you try to sleep in a different position than normal? On your back instead of on your side?

No, not at all, infact, I find it quite impossible for me to sleep on my back lol.

So is it better to not focus on dreaming, sleeping and awakening at all and just try to get into a fully relaxed state and let the subconcious do the rest?

OK, I tried again to LD last night but it didnt work, everytime i woke up i would write my dream down though and I collected 3 Dream Recalls.

In one of them I am sitting backseat of a car driven by and surrounded by complete strangers, one of the backseat passengers then calls my name and asks me to hold my hand out, I offer a cupped hand to him and he then spits something real goowy and green into my hand (not bogies, more like flubber from the movie). I study it in my cupped palm but then throw this out of the window in disgust and the person that told me to put my hand laughingly says "that'll teach you"

Do you think I was close on this occasion and pretty much "threw" the opportunity away?
And are there any hidden messages within the story about becoming lucid?

Your hand figured predominantly in your dream but you didn't do a check, despite looking at your hands being your main check? Forgive me if I'm pointing out the obvious, but your post didn't make it clear that you had caught the irony. Either way you're close, so keep on it.

It sounds like your recall is improving. It is probably a good sign that you took a minute to examine the strange stuff in your hand. It seems like you took a second to think about the situation. Any time I take the time to stop and focus on something, it increases my dream vividness and chances for a lucid.
